You can simply uninstall many of the Samsung apps now, which wasn't always possible with earlier versions of OneUI.  Apps will end up on Deep Sleep if you don't use them, so there isn't much to be gained by uninstalling.

Thank you, compared to Pixel or Graphene on Pixel especially or even Nothing Phones launcher, OneUI7 just feels a bit cluttered, like Samsung and Google are having a tug of war haha. Id love a real basic launcher.

One feature I use a lot is the Voice Typing, is there any way to launch it without holding down the comma bar?

Also, I often have it struggling with my kiwi/aussie accent, it would be so cool if there is a way to train it better to your own voice?

I havnt tried live conversation language translation yet, but it will be SUPER useful for me, was one feature I chose samsung for over iPhone.

I use Nova Launcher, works well. When you use Nova it doesn't really matter what the manufacturer skin is, my S25 looks pretty much the same as my pixel 8 and my old pixel 4.

To activate the voice typing I just hit the voice typing button at the top right of Google keyboard. It looks like a little microphone. I've never had to do anything with a comma to activate voice typing.

Was just heading to Nova Launcher and installing a Nothing look.

I use the MS keyboard as I can enlarge it, Ive hated the samsung standard keyboards. The honest truth is if I had a 6" phone and half of it was keyboard, id be happy. But voice typing is SOOO much quicker, despite it struggling with my accent haha.

Just be aware Nova is no longer supported and won't receive updates.

MS has a launcher, not sure if legit, but 4.7 from 50M+ reviews. Damn I miss my 5.1" nokia MS phone. Was easily my fav phone and OS of all time. I was forced to use the original brick Motorola and a pager back in the telco days. What a beast of a phone, the Nokias took over fast.

They were good phones looking back.

Look into the additional customisation options you get via Samsung's Good Lock app.  It allows you to tweak a huge amount of default OneUI settings and themes.

Im getting use to OneUI7, I thought it would be a breeze coming from a galaxy all be it 6 months ago. I mostly like it.

But one thing I cannot get working, sending images over Google Messages, do I need to setup apn settings on Spark or something?

Also I tried emailing the person but that didnt work until I reduced the images to about 25%. But still will not send on google Messages.

Under Access Point Names it seems to be a generic one, it says "Data" and under that it just says "(internet)"

Does Spark have something like a download patch to set the APN up? Lots of the things like

Things are missing in setting up an APN like

What you see is correct. You may need to enable RCS which then registers the device as RCS capable, for want of a better description.

If that doesn't help, please start a new thread to discuss things further, as this thread is for more general S25 discussion. Starting a new thread will keep this one clean and put more eyes across the issues you're having, as many members may not engage with this thread to see your posts.

MS has a launcher, not sure if legit,

The S25 Ultra is the 3rd mobile that I have used the MS Launcher and it is great. It's highly configurable and each device looks just like the one before 😁 - fine by me. I just couldn't get to grips with the Samsung UI, it just seems clumsy and almost childish. Like @timmmay, I've used Nova and MS is very similar. In the end I decided that as the Launcher is central to everything that I do on the device, rightly or wrongly I decided that MS "should" be more reliable and secure. I've not noticed any issues that I can contribute to the Launcher. I just hope MS stick with it and don't bury it like they do a lot of stuff.

As for keyboard, I keep going back to gboard. I swipe type and gboard recognises my swiping way better than the others. MS swiping is useless unless you are extremely accurate with your finger placement, and I am NOT. Sometime I just wonder how gboard guesses what I'm swiping.

Having smashed the screen on my S21 Ultra (which BTW has just updated to Android 15), I recently moved up to the S25 Ultra. My honest opinon? Not a lot of difference really other than speed, better screen and camera improvements. Was going to wait till next year when the S21 moved out of support.

Gboard is excellent with the exception I wish the @ was present all the time.

I had a look at the MS Launcher, but even as a MS centric partner, it felt too... Close... for my liking :)

Well thats two votes for Gboard. I went back to Samsung keyboard and surprised how well I could type on it. Only reason I got a big phone was thinking it would be wider and i could make it taller for my fat thumbs, but the screens are taller not wider and the mskeyboard cant be increased in height that much. So might give Gboard a go.

MS Launcher, not microsoft? Im new to launchers.

Im liking Gboard, its predictive text seems more on too it. But, the keys are tiny can I increase the keyboard size. I like half the phone type size :)

edit: NVM, I found the resize, brilliant, Im much more accurate now.
