DaveCooper: I just got my desire and I can't the mobile data working. Mobile data is ticked but when switching it off then on again is never actually turns on it just stays gray. If it leave the menu and come back it is then ticked. Also there are no APNs listed just a blank screen although I seem to be happly connected to the Vodafone network. Calling works fine and wifi is also fine. Could it be related to the sim? i got a brand new one for the phone when shifting from prepay to account.

Cheers
Dave

You will need to type in the APN settings for vodafone. These settings around discussed further back up this topic. Start from the beginning.

Where do I type them in? When I go to "settings/wireless & networks/Mobile Networks/Access Point Names/" all I get is a blank screen with no where to enter anything?

Cheers
Dave

If you press the Menu button on that screen you will see the option for 'new APN'
make sure you enter both the data one and the mms one as listed earlier in the forum

Thanks for that, didn't think about hitting the hardware button!

My one does not do Korean - atleast out of the box... I do notice there are a lot of korean keyboards in the android market though and other korean stuff. Go to appbrain and have a look?

You don't turn the app off as such, just turn the notification off. It's in the app's settings somewhere. That's what I did anyway.

Quick question, if I have both Mobile Internet and WiFi on (assuming I am connected to a WiFi network), all data transfer should be routed to the WiFi connection right? (I presume this is the case, because as soon as I come home and connect to my home WiFi, the mobile "H" is replaced with the WiFi icon in the notification bar).

I ask this because my 100mb vodafone allowance was scarily used up in 2 weeks last month LOL... :P

Yup, you've made the right assumption! It is indeed either WiFi or mobile - not both.

Same here - certainly creeps up on you awfully fast!

App called stats might be helpful to see how much data is used for wifi and network...

Froyo available!

I Think I'll personally wait for a more mature ROM

I wonder which one of you will be the first to have a root?

I'll take a pass on that. I'm not prepared to giving up the Sense UI for 2.2.

Will be patient and wait for the official 2.2 update including Sense from HTC :)

Hope you are really patient.  Still waiting for the promised HTC update of 1.5 to 2.1 for my Hero (7 months and counting)....
