lokhor: I have 130 apps on my SGS and so far 86 on my HTC Sensation.

My space left is as follows:
HTC Sensation: 570mb
SGS: 1187mb

I don't think I will run out of space on either anytime soon.

Yeah. The Sensation has a GB of app storage. I have 744MB free at the moment.

On my SGS I never got anywhere remotely close to 1GB, never mind 2 GB. Most games install the big stuff to the sdcard anyway. I have the Jamie Oliver 20 Minute Cookbook on my phone with about 110MB of downloaded content...and they all went to the sdcard.

Just to confirm the comment about the screen width - I mentioned that in my first comparison review piece at the Clove Blog - the screen has a widescreen aspect ratio.

Next bit going up to Clove soon, video playback shootout between SGSII and Sensation.

Linuxluver:
TheUngeek: I have heard a lot about Kies and how awful it is.
How important is that to the use of the phone?
Likewise the new HTC Sync?

Kies put me off moving up the Samsung range. I was happy with the HTC Magic and the Nexus One. OTA updates leave Kies for dead.

Why use Kies though? Just use Odin.

Kies isn't needed for anything at all.

EDIT:
Second part of the comparison going up soon (well, really a primer to the second part, but anyways).

This one will have a video showcasing their relative video playback merits. Lots of detail, and the blog post that goes with it will have a text file available with all the video's properties (video/audio encoding, bitrate, subs format etc via Media Info).

Hey everyone - firmware update over the air is available now. Presently installing to my device.  Small one, only 27MB, so most likely just bug fixes/stability improvements.

Unfortunately some of us won't be able to install it since we have the Telecom branded version

@NZTechFreak. Did you see my post a couple of pages back about the screen outdoors?

Yep, there is stuff on that in my post at the Clove blog.

@Lokhor: Ah, of course, sorry. In my excitement I didn't even think about that... Its not the S-OFF update we're all after anyways...

For those asking about battery usage here's my stats from last charge. Not everyone has same usage but perhaps some indication.

Will be interesting to see if anything noticeable becomes of it. Install process was nice and easy.

What was your display usage and did you leave 3g on?

Display Usage now at 3hr 47m, so i'd say it'd have been about 3.30 when that shot was taken. I've got it set to 3g only.

I think a good thing to note, as is with NZTechFreak's notes, is that when you're not using it the battery life is reasonable. As can be seen overnight in that graph, and then first thing in the morning using my phone and it dives a reasonable amount.

NZtechfreak: what about battery life for sensation compared to sgsII? my suggestion, if you could fully recharge overnight, started using it from the same time in the morning and only use same app(s) throughout the day.

I will definitely be covering battery life, don't worry!

Next part of my comparison review up now:

http://blog.clove.co.uk/2011/07/06/htc-sensation-review-vs-samsung-galaxy-s-ii-video-playback-shooto.../

Check out the Excel sheet that is linked to as well - Sensation abysmal before, and much better after the Dice Player treatment!
