Bhavicp: Anyone know if with JB you can move apps to the SD card? As this is the biggest and annoying(est) issue i've had with the S3 as I only got a 16GB model thinking I'd just get a 32GB SD card and use that. But at the moment, my SD sits nearly empty.

Yes my biggest annoyance with all these phones is this.

My wife has a Samsung galaxy gio and it seems you can have a bout 10 apps and then its full and the whole phone grinds to a halt and wont receive sms or email etc because its groaning about phone storage.
Pretty pathetic for a 2012 device to have tiny amount of storage and a huge SD card that hardly gets used.

It is what you paid for is what you'd get normally. I have a 32GB and don't have any issues.

On JB guys:

Any one experience aproximity sensor is always on even not on call? It seems to glow red in the dark. Yes it will drain battery.

I am still running stock ics and now that you mention this, I think I have noticed that also.. So it may not be just a JB issue..

That's weird I don't have those before. My colleague S3 on Telecom doesn't have it either. Weird as it may sound. I'm going to do a factory wipe incase of some conflict when upgrading

I hate the new Go SMS Pro. It lost the ability to backup messages offline onto SD card. Whereas before it was so much user friendly. Now is very intrusive and bloated with crap.
Moving my private box to inbox now and then never again going back to Go SMS Pro or Hansent. It asked me if I'd like to buy feature and cloud space {WTF}!

I bought a S3 from Dick Smith the other day.

I assume its an international version ie not linked to VF or Xt???
Being an inexperienced user should I wait for the Samsung update 4.1 or is it a huge benefit to get it now via rooting?

If you are running an international version of ICS on your GS3, then just fire up kies on your pc and connect your phone and check for updates..

As soon as they are available for the CSC your phone is for, you will be all good to upgrade via Kies and will have nothing to worry about your data on the phone as all will be preserved.

I was going through the play store about to download it and just then read your feedback.. same here.. wont bother downloading it if its laggy..

All on the strength of one persons say so? What if he did something wrong with his phone? What if he had some other app causing the problem?

The number of times i have seen someone complaining about an app and then i find no such problems are astronomical.

I had no lagging with pansi sms. I personally use handcent as i didnt like the way pansi did the message pop up window, but aside from that pansi was great.

I also stopped using go sms months ago due to bloat, adverts, dropped features, forcing you to join their stupid online service, etc. Handcent is better, but not perfect either.

We might have a lot of sheep here in NZ, but we dont go baaaaa ourselves eh.

Dude! calm down man and take some chill pill. I'm on Jelly Bean and it is laggy. At least tell us what firmware revision you're using as well. I know that JB won't work too well with it.

I tried Pansi after figuring it couldn't hurt, but i've not had any good enough reason to stop using GoSMS and Pansi just isn't as aesthetically pleasing to me. Plus their themes stink. Otherwise it seemed stable and fine enough for me on 4.1.1

I don't need any private sms stuff, just a nice looking, moderately customisable app. Oh, and the ability to make it myself because every developer seems to think that more is better.
