WTF - Google Maps Navigation is defaulting to "travel by bus". i dunno when this happened, but I'm guessing it's a result of the last OTA update? Anyone know how to reset this back so it defaults to "travel by car" !?

tallmaninthecnr: Hi has anyone else found that since the Telecom upgrade to 4.03 that they cannot swipe the notification bar to adjust brightness of the screen. (auto is off)

The developer of WanamLite says that Samsung have removed the functionality. Pity, because it was quite useful.

Hello,

Im getting a bit sick of running on CM9NZ - too many bugs. I'm looking at switching to Resurrection Remix or WanamLite or ROOTBOX (looks the most interesting). Any particular recommendation?

Im on 2degrees atm. Is anyone having a pleasant experience with a particular modem?

Thoroughly recommend resurrection remix. the speed of the ui with the jelly bean transitions is very quick.

There's a newer VFNZ firmware available:
PDA : I9100XWLPI
PHONE : I9100XXLPX
CSC : I9100VNZLP2

...however according to Check FUS the LP7 firmware is the most recent XEU firmware.  There may be an OTA update imminent (much like the one that VFNZ recently released).

Hi, practicing at being the best noob I can be, Ive bricked my phone, managed to get a stock rom back on it but now have a no sim error... Guessing a csc thing
where can I get these files?
I feel so ashamed ... Ive had to read the manual and are thinking of taking it to the shop

Cheers Steve

What does your IMEI show under Settings->About Phone->Status?  Don't type it here, but the number should match what's on the sticker under your battery.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

AFAIK, the CSC shouldn't affect the SIM being recognised - all it does is set carrier-specific details like your APN setting etc?

Have you tried doing a factory restore in CWM?  IF that doesn't fix it, I'd do another flash via Odin, with a completely stock ROM - go for one of the XEU ones - you can download these from sammobile.com

Trying to gauge interest in an S2 I'm selling.

Firstly it is *** faulty*** and sold as is:

Appears there is something with the hardware at fault. When you power off, sometimes it just reboots. Does it intermittently. When it's on, it runs perfect and that's everything. Currently running PFFitech 1.05, ICS 4.0.4 ( A very nice rom )

Connects fine via USB whether it be by MTP or mass storage. Download and Recovery mode work fine. When it's off and charging, and you disconnect the cable, the battery charging icon carries on.. Slight blemish by the plastic in between the camera and flash. Screen is excellent condition.

$450 or ONO

CM10 is now available for the SGS2 over at XDA; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1794758

Still experimental at this stage but everything appears to be working from my brief experience with it.

I've been running it since about 7 pm and am pretty impressed. Viber doesn't work, they're on that though, and I've also had issues with LCD density pro. Swype Beta also seems a little bit buggy.
I installed this over omega 15 with a full wipe, and restored all my user apps with titanium back up (none on sd card).

Pretty happy with this, feels stable enough to keep as a daily.
