Not available here yet . . .

Interesting. I believe I have already received two updates in April - the last one perhaps last week? Anyway, I am the type that checks once a week.

Sounds like a hardware fault

Thanks @gehenna that's what I was thinking just have to hope doesn't get worse now as not many repair shops open over Xmas break so just hope nothing serious develops.

Now 28th January no problems, about 5 days before s24 trade in finished and first off fingerprint wouldn't work (seen this something to do with google discover which I could never get rid of) ,factory reset input finger prints again still not work so reset again still no luck then Bluetooth stopped working 2 days later checked buds on another device all working reset phone again still no luck hated using wired earphones. So the last night before trade in finished decided to trade in for s24 ultra and received $1300 trade in payment which was a good result as don't know if phone would have lasted and more faults happened, so happy camper now with S24 ultra.
Further to this put in trade-in request on 4th February accepted offer on 28th February after assessment approved, and waited over 2 and half months to get trade in refund back, going round in circle with this , finally told them to pay me refund or I would be going to take further action by today(and then it would have gone to disputes tribunal) which is what I was advised by consumer protection .
Received my refund today so all happy now.

Is there any prefered refurbished shop in NZ? I cant afford a new one.

I saw one site Ive not heard of before, has the s22 ultra for $800 and the S23 ultra for $1200, one year warranty etc.

Id imagine the s22 ultra is worthless and outdated by now?

I love your sense of humour 😁

I still run the S21 Ultra and keep looking for a reason to replace it. I can't find one! I drop it - it bounces. I have no screen protector - it won't scratch, it gets wet - it wipes dry. The lens gets a bit smeary - I wipe it on my jeans to clean it. Has all the latest updates, the software does anything that I want it to and doesn't crash. I really want a better "telephoto" lens, but they haven't really made any advances. The battery is getting long in the tooth, but will normally last 24 hours on a full charge. Perhaps in a couple of years I may look for a new one.

PS. Don't tell Samsung any of this!

Really, it still gets updates? I thought until the s24, prior samsungs were 4 years updates and 5 years security patches?

I think the Pixel 8 camera is as good, but it doesnt have a 10 telephoto, which I presume is class leading. Good screens. I like the qualcomm mo

The only refurbished samsung is this "Reebelo" store/website. Their prices are sharp, but Ive never heard of them, so am wary. Expertinfotech do good value Iphone refurbs, but not any recent samsungs.

Has anyone heard o Reebelo before?

S21 is currently on Android 14, and should be good for 15. Plenty on the web about it e.g. Android 15 (One UI 7) update: Which Galaxy phones will get it - SamMobile

Although there are behind the scenes advances in the OS, I find as a user there is little difference that I notice. Certainly nothing to get excited about.

Yeh often small updates make not much difference. The S23U though seems to use a big sensor for the camera. Im pretty sure there were some camera software changes between S22U to S23U as well, which seems similar to the S24U.

I think either 22ultra or the 23U would suit me fine until I look to change direction to pixel 8 once the 9 has been out long enough to drop the 8 Pro, the 7 Pro after half a year is half the 8 Pro price, so hoping the 9 Pro will do similar t the 8.

However I might get stuck liking the samsung. Im familiar with the OS, my last galaxy lasted 7 years before I broke it lol, hence looking for a new used phone.

I also came across Reebelo only recently. The prices are pretty good but there's hardly a positive word I can found about them across multiple Reddit forums.

Keen to hear if anyone here has used them?

I didnt look on there. Given how genuine their reviews sound, that is odd. Obviously a  really good chat bot now can throw up some decent stuff but old reviews....

I think if I were going apple and not official, I would go expertinfotech due to bricks and mortar store.

What is the techcrazy store like?

Its very hard to find refurb Pixel 8s.

I really want a Desktop mode, sadly Samsungs a55 and below dont offer Dex (although android 15 by default may offer one that does the job most need). I realised today you do not need an ultra to get Dex, although Ultra has the CPU power and Cameras I want. The s23 has 3 major updates left which will take it through 27 and security patches 5 years total so through to 28 and maybe beyond.

Does anybody use Dex mode a lot?

I watched a video yesterday on how you can interact with  MS windows, have Dex on one monitor windows on another but be able to move the windows around and even back to MS Windows.

I dont know if I need an Ultra, the Plus is the size I want and has all the cameras I want....
