JellyWeb: I don't really want to give up Sense either, but want some Froyo too... maybe try it out and go back to shipping ROM if I miss Sense too much. Will certainly upgrade when 2.2 with Sense comes out.
I think the rumor about 2.2 officially coming to the Desire before the end of the month is just that - a rumor.

RevoWution: Just had a play around with LauncherPro Beta. Loving it!! It's noticeably faster than Sense UI, and I really like how the main standby screens work in landscape mode too.
The only downside that I can see is that the HTC widgets don't work with it yet. Here's hoping they will be incorporated in the future!! :D

dpw: I'm slowly discovering HTC Sense alternatives - currently playing with ADW.Launcher. It's quite nice, highly customisable but I get the initial impression is a little too complicated.
HTC Sense cons: the opaque panel at the bottom of the screen
LauncherPro cons: I couldn't tell which screen I was on - there are no indicators that I could see. Sense widgets don't work on it.
ADW.Launcher cons: it's a bit complicated, and I'm not entirely sure how the swiping works on the dock/bottom panel. Again, sans Sense widgets.
There's another one called Helix I think - haven't tried it though.

Ambrose_1: Anyone else get a small sim logo with a gear next to it? Been up there since I put in my vodafone contract sim, the logo isn't explained in the manual. It is blank when I bring the bar down too.?
