i use the incipio one  PB stock, aside from it being a little thick and makes the M8 all the more bigger in the pocket and the way the harder bits can dig in over long periods of resting, i quite like it

I use the Spigen Slim Armor HTC One M8 Case - Gun Metal. It's beautiful, keeps the metal finish of the phone (one of the main reasons I bought the phone in the first place)

Had to order it from the UK though, as no one in NZ stocked it. Got it from mobilefun.co.nz (ships from UK)

I have dot view case, had it for 4 months and quite like it, so many people commented on it when they see the different things that appear through the case (especially the seasonal animations)

Hey all, I've had the M8 since launch and it's been a swell phone which I am really tempted to keep for a while.

However I have been finding that over the last few weeks the headphone jack has be pantsing out, like it doesn't hold the plug properly, it comes out too easy.

Tried it with several headphones too

Looks like Lollipop is not too far away for Vodafone variant: http://community.vodafone.co.nz/t5/Android-phones/HTC-One-M8-Android-5-update/m-p/173033#U173033

Got an M8 yesterday to replace my M7... Did a factory reset with a new(ish) Lexar 64GB card inside it... All good.

After downloading all the apps, adding accounts, entering 2FA codes, I moved some apps to the microSD, using the Settings | Apps.

A couple of apps crashed after this - Pandora, Amazon.

At first the device froze and after a restart it came back with an empty microSD and all apps on the SD card were greyed out and wouldn't start. After about ten minutes it at last confirmed the microSD had some content and everything came back.

I moved Pandora and Amazon back to the main storage but when I finished doing it Amazon crashed again (running in the background?). The handset froze again and now it won't restart - power on, vol down and power on, power on with power cable attached. Nothing works.

Any ideas to bring this back to life?

Well, restarted it after pressing vol up + vol down + power while plugged in for a few minutes.

Moving all apps out of the SD. What a waste of time.

Only problem I've had with SD card in the M8 is that it's easily unseated - small drop will do it (I do try and avoid that though!). It's never caused an issue like yours though Mauricio, so probably something else, and really just a heads up. And the Dot View case is good - doesn't really protect the camera lens though and mine's quite scratched.

One question on People: I have it showing Twitter contacts as well but most are using the default avatar (grey head). Once I tap on a name it loads the correct avatar.

Is there a way to refresh all avatars so that all of them show it correctly instead of the grey head?

Lollipop update: Vodafone AU have approved the firmware,  awaiting rollout.
Can anyone confirm that Spark and 2degrees approved this update? I suspect it was Vodafone AU only that was yet to approve, so maybe we'll see this in a few days / weeks?
