WaxerNZ: Lol Because corning gorilla is only brand of tough glass in the world and all others are crap?

https://youtu.be/0IrPJ2l19fc
Same scratch test rating as Samsung s10. Gorilla glass must be just as crap hahaha

Isn't the Samsung 5g the one with same score for camera?

I have one assumption when I see phones with glass rares and that its like washing machines that are industrially designed to fail one non replaceable part, designed to break. I just dont get it, I cant justify it. Anyone else? Im sincerely curious as to why. There must be a valid reason outside designed to fail because most seem to have followed Galaxy s6 etc with the wet soap bar made of glass design.

You should NEVER BUY the galaxy fold... I hate to see your thoughts on that haha... Popcorn ready

That guy is such an Apple fanboy at heart, he never stops talking about apple.

Years after apple ditched the headphone jack he would still mock it but hardly mention it when another brand did the same thing. Apple weren't the first do it it but he's fixated on them for doing it still.

Partner and I picked up one each this weekend on MRO with 2degrees via Noel Leeming. Both getting $300 off RRP, that watch via redemption, a pair of over-ear pioneer bluetooth headphones and a glass screen protector.

Headphones and screen protector thrown in by noel seeming but have to pick them up in 2 weeks when back from holiday as they had none in stock yet.

On that same note, has anyone managed to get a screen protector for these yet? Been to Voda, Spark, 2degrees, Noel Leeming, JBHIFI, all are sold out. The Noel Leeming branch in Auckland CBD said they don't even make them because it stops the fingerprint reader from working haha. Pretty interesting considering your other store has one on the way for me but whatever. Going to pop into the mall tomorrow and go to one of the cheapo repair places to see if they have any to tide me over.

A quick update on my order of the P30 Pro from Vodafone... They've gone through their allocation of Huawei GT Watches, so they have offered to credit me the watch value, plus an extra $100 to match the $401 I would have got originally if my order had been processed properly. I'm happy with that, now just need it to arrive before end of next week!

That's an even better deal. Most people would be lucky to get half the value for the watch when selling it on, and most people will be trying to sell it I would imagine. I've seen people on Trade me trying to get $300 for the watch.

I saw some screen protectors at 2 Degrees at the Base in Hamilton. Already heaps on Trademe where I have ordered one and a folded case. Unfortunately I fell into the trap and accidentally bought the P30 protector. I have emailed the supplier when I realised my mistake. However no reply as yet

I grabbed one of these:

https://www.3sixtgear.com/product/screen-protection/curved-glass-screen-protector-huawei-p30-pro/

First one came unstuck, I think due to case, second one is working a lot better after letting it set for a few hours before putting stock case back on. If this one fails, will return and pick up a Spigen film cover which works well with the curved screens (I do prefer a glass protector however)

So who else is still waiting for their phone from pre-orders? Mine is a BC P30 from PBTech.

An interesting thing is that PB Tech seems to have some stock of the Pro BC and Aurora at least in their head office. (Maybe a recent shipment?) No stock at all of the non Pro BC & Aurora. (They did once but I assume these were reserved for earlier customers since I never got mine.) Noel Leeming has decent stock of the non Pro BC & Aurora, but no stock at all of the Pro BC & Aurora. Both have okay stock of both blacks. JB Hifi and Harvey Norman are possibly similar to Noel Leeming i.e. P30 Pro is worse stock although since they don't really show quantity harder to say since can only go by if it's in stock (or limited) and number of stores. Interesting HN doesn't seem to even have stock of the black Pro.

Was randomly browsing at the spark store and messing with the camera and zoomed into the Hallensteins across the mall and I could read the fine print on a poster I couldnt even see. I picked one up on the spot.

Just got .124 on Vodafone (P30, non Pro) overnight as well. Haven't noticed any differences so far, the release notes vaguely refer to camera optimisations.

.124 also out on 2degrees a few days ago when we got the phones. Haven’t noticed any difference.

Thanks for suggestions Re screen protectors. We’re in Melbourne ATM, none of the carrier stores had them. Stumped up $35 for one at JBHIFI in the end. Ugh. Only annoyance is the black trim which covers a portion of the viewable screen. I guess hard to avoid given how small the bezels are.

Given the camera a good workout while here also. Some absolutely amazing shots. The night mode and wide angle have meant I’ve hardly pulled out my XS Max. Also had a voda au sim in this phone and hotspotting to iPad and iPhone all day. It still has all day battery life with that on the whole day. Amazing.

Like this. My friends asked me last night to take portraits of them in the pub-they were blown away as to how good they were
