Battery life on my 6 Pro is quite a bit better than my 3 XL.

Here's a wild story for those of us wrangling 5G on Pixels...

https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/technology/2021/11/2degrees-activates-5g-network-for-testing-in-auckland-and-wellington.html

"However, only 2degrees customers with parallel imported phones or specially modified devices will be able to get 5G connectivity during the test phase, the company said. If connected, they will see a 5G network message at the top of their screen and will be able to use the 5G network for data downloads."

I've turned on 5G on my 4a5G and while I don't expect anything because it's a Google thing not the local telcos, it would be amusing if I did hook into it!

I'll report back hahaha

Before I add this to Offers/Wanted, anyone looking for a Pixel 6 case?

I got a bit trigger happy and purchased a Ringke Fusion Matte Clear in preparation for buying the phone... But due to the 5G limitation, I ended up going in another direction.

There's some pretty ugly looking wallet style cases for 6 and 6 pro on TradeMe... But might do as a temporary option, they're cheap.

If you still have this I would like to buy it, I don't think I can send you a PM but you should be able to send me a message.

Got my pixel 6 on Friday evening.
It's great, the battery life is amazing and I can use it all day with 20% left in the tank.

Now I was okay with putting up with no voLTE however since today my calls are no longer switching to 3g but is switching from LTE to H+.

What does that mean? We using the 4g network for calls?

Was around Flatbush and pokeno today when I made those calls if anyone was curious where.

H÷ is part of the 3G standard. You're on 3G for those calls.

Hi!

I hope everybody’s day is going well.

I am considering getting pixel 6 from Kogan - atm they have a free delivery option.

Does anyone now what is the version of the phone they are selling? I found out that the Japanese version has a camera shutter sound that can’t be turned off.. and I would like to avoid that one.

On the Kogan site they say that the phone version is “international”.. has anyone of you ordered a Pixel 6 from them and can advise?

someone i know got theirs from dicksmith (owned by kogan, presumably ship out of the same warehouse) and got the japanese version.

i would ask their support if they can guarantee a non-japanese version, but i doubt  it

The Japanese version is GR1YH
The version without the forced shutter sound is GB7N6

I have the latter.

Anybody that upgraded from the Pixel 3 XL to 6? Mightyape has 3 XL for $500 and wondering if it’s worth it in 2021, or should I spend big boy dollars on the Pixel 6 instead. There’s also the 5a for $890 in between
