I checked for the latest S25 update last night, it was available. You also may need to check for the Google Play Services update manually, which is in about phone - software information.
Good tip, also updated and needed a reboot (seems fairly major), and yah new update button to spam hoping for new things...

Nope you just need to wait for the update
Cheers. I have updates set on auto, but the last security patch, I think the 13th, it didnt auto download. Is there any funny bugs with auto download/install?

@TeaLeaf Auto download will only check every so often - It is working as designed and that is why they provide a manual option for the end user to check
This is the XXS update and does not include the camera update. Some regions are getting XXU, which is 1.3 MB and updates the camera. Maybe next month?
Anyway, there are many happy users on Reddit reporting major improvements in battery life, so I will go ahead with this one and check the Play update afterwards.
Im super happy with battery life, the only thing that seems to suck it up is Video Calls ie Msgr, Whatsapp etc, the phone gets warm at the top, I presume thats where the wifi modem is. Watching Disney etc it seems to barely use battery.
Have many people opted for Qi2 Cases? I figure I will wait until its in the phone itself, plus I like the look of the budget Anker slow charger, I need a stand for watching movies or doing Video calls etc. The Torras case with the flip out magsafe ring is pretty cool though.
I bought a Samsung case with the Qi2 magnets. It's great and works perfectly with my Belkin wireless car charger. I don't know why you wouldn't get a case with the magnets?
The new iPhone 16e also ditched the magnets and there are rumours that the next Pixel 10 will also require a case with magnets. So my hunch is that this might be the start of a trend and more phones will leave the magnets to be installed in the cases instead of the phone.
Also, regarding battery life - this the first Android phone I've had where I don't always charge the phone overnight. I can't quite get two days out of it, but I can charge it for 30 minutes at lunch time and it will last for 1.5 days.
I've never needed a case with magnets since I've never needed wireless charging. Wireless charging creates extra heat which can over time reduce battery health, though I don't know by how much - it might be a trivial amount these days. I'm considering the DBrand Grip case mostly for the grip but it has the magnets, but it's US$60 and has to come from the US as far as I can tell and I'm not sure it's good enough value to bother, especially since the Spigen cases are good enough and are available locally.
The battery life of my S25 was incredible when I first got it. When I got all my apps installed and logged in the battery life went down to about what I'd expect, even though background battery use it restricted, still pretty good but not as good as before the apps are all installed.

My OnePlus 13 gets pretty good battery life but havnt timed it, but this phone I am usually down around 50-60% so I probably could get 2 days out of it.
Speaking of, would it be better for preserving my battery if I dont use it as much to stop it at 80% option? Currently I have it set to the option that stops at 80% and stops until 2 hours before you wake. I watched some smart guy on Youtube (or at least sounded smart), he was saying its better to slow charge your battery over night if you can, ie 5w, 10w etc.
Im only using one of the spare chargers which is max 30w and the 3a cord and it still seems fast enough to me.
Re Magsafe cases, I was just trying to save money and not reinvent the wheel at this stage, ie accessories are not magsafe. And currently qi2 accessories are still quite pricey. But if a case was affordable enough like some of the spigens on sale at PBtech I might just be inclined to snap one up.
Slow charging generates less heat, which is better for your battery than fast charging. I cap my phone at 80% charge, it never goes above that, I think it's called "maximum battery protection" in settings. That should make the battery last longer - it seemed to help on my Pixel before it had to be returned, battery health was excellent even though it was a couple of years old. Then again, you can fast charge to 100% and just replace the battery in a few years, Google says $90 to $150 usually.

You don't need a case with magnets for wireless charging. The S25 series is 15W maximum, same as the S24, S23, ... You do need a magnetic case for Qi2 compatibility, which will hold the phone on the charger in the optimum position if you buy the right case.
I haven't tried wireless charging since the S20, which took forever to charge at the standard setting and became quite warm using fast charging. When the dust settles and prices come down. I may get a case and phone holder for the car as the Ultra screen is so good for navigating.
I don't usually bother with wireless charging, but for a car mount it's perfect. The magnets secure the phone without needing to fiddle with clamps, and the wireless charging provides enough power to charge the phone even while navigating. I have a Routine set up that launches Waze when I connect it to the car mount.

The only benefit I see of Qi2, or at least the main one is Car Charger, but the good old craddle and cable still works so I dont see the need just yet. The other Qi2 product is of mild interest to me is the elegant stem chargers for the bedside table, can flex to whatever position etc, but again, the anker $20 wireless charger does the job, I just dont have 2 of them as Mrs has one in europe. So I need another which was only reason I considered it, as the Spigen qi2 cases are about 40% off at the moment at PB. Ideally I want the Nano Pop case, not sure they have it.
