CM: I highly recommend the dock. I find I mostly have it docked. It props it up for a start!

Andrew, how did you get on trying to connect the TF to your telly?

Sorry about the delay in replying.

I couldn't get the HDMI output to work with any of the 3 TVs we have in the house(2 newish Panasonics, and a really old Sony Bravia), or either of the three monitors (an old Dell using a HDMI-DVI adapter, a new Dell, and a new AOC) I have access to. at home and at work.

Bummer! I'm now wondering whether I have a dud mini HDMI - HDMI cable? I bought a new one from DSE, so it ought to be allright. I figure it's  95% likely to be the fault of the tablet, and 5% chance it's a faulty cable.

Mind you, apart from the HDMI output issue, I am still really enjoying using the tablet and keyboard dock.
Have used it in a couple of cafe's here in WLG with the new cbdfree wifi. Very handy.

kind regards Andrew TD

Thanks for your update Andrew.
You could take the tablet and HDMI cable into DSE and get them to check it on the display tvs.

Not a bad idea. Have left the cable at home today - will bring it in tomorrow and give it a go.

Well - I did that, and whaddya know - it was a faulty cable!
They were very helpful at the DSE store on Featherston St in Wellington.
Happily got out their Asus Eee pad transformer and tried it with my cable - it didn't work.
Then got out a new min-HDMI cable, and it did work with both their eee pad, and then with mine.
They then gave me the good cable (I left the dud with them)
Couldn't have had a better "resolution experience".
Well done DSE.

Have since tried my eee pad on an HDMI monitor here at work (Samsung) and it worked just fine.

Very happy :)

Awesome, nice work. That was worth going back.
So is it a DSE brand cable?

Is anyone else having wifi problems?

After an update to google aps the other day, a lot of the time after waking up from sleep it won't connect to wifi, when I go into wifi settings, wifi is turning on, then straight back off, and repeating over and over again.

Also, when I went to my parents tonight and tried to connect to their wifi, my tablet would reboot when trying to connect to their wifi, but only does it conecting to theirs.

Cheers

No everything seems OK for me. I've always had a problem that wifi doesnt always re-enable when turning air plane mode off, but a ocuple of taps to get to wifi settings and enable manually has never bothered me.

Other than that all seems OK.

WiFi is fine on mine.

I learned one thing on the weekend. If you completely drain the battery, you have to hold the power button for like 20 seconds before it'll turn on again, once it's plugged in. I thought it was broken, but luckily not.

Mine has just arrived in from the US, brand new via eBay. Even with shipping etc still way cheaper than buying here. No gst or tax either :-) I'm looking forward to getting it charged and having a play and joining the rest of the eeepad owners here.

I see DSE are selling the ASUS Epad EP101 for $499 - Is this the Transformer?  What's the diff between EP101 and TF101?

Thanks.
