It's not a setting. You need a rooted phone and something like FastDormancy toggle from Google Play.

As above, used Mobile Odins rooting option (ever root?), and Fast Dormancy Toggle App. Tiny app that just does what it says on the tin.

Had my phone off last night for about nine hours. Still has 70% charge from being 100% at 12pm yesterday. Has been plenty of browsing, some gaming, calls and texts.

Lovin it. Probably not going back to CM10 other than to test battery life between Samsung and CM10 when NZ release is out, and hopefully CM10 out of nightly soon.

On Omega custom JB Rom that message came on. I'm now on Criskelo JB com and it doesn't. It says "Last update 3.58pm. Hmm Interesting!

Not too worried about updates. Those of us comfy with flashing will see new ROMs plastered on xda sammobile gz etc.

34 hours run time since unplugging. I have 28% battery left.

More browsing gaming and texts.

Hello,

Im not sure if this is the right thread to post in but here's my thing. Yesterday I bought my galaxy s iii in dicksmith because its in their promo. I picked the Garnet one cause in my opinion it's kinda cool compare to other available color of the sphon. Late last night when I'm watching a clip in youtube (the room is dark at that time), I notice a small dark patch, a spot on the screen of my new sphone, it's on the top leftish part of the screen at first I thought it was only a dirt so I wiped it (knowing that I've done the correct thing and like most of the users do so) as I continue to watch the clip when I reach the later part (when the screen gets dark again) I saw the same patch or spot or whatever you wanna call it, there again ,same place, same size. It's really annoying to see that black spot there. I tried touching the part where I can see the patch to check if that area's working fine and yes it's working, no something whatever like not responding and the likes. So my concern is that, is this a normal from a phone which is almost 1 week of my salary , should i bring it back to the store? I surf around other sites and this concern is kinda widespread all throughout. Any replies will be appreciate. thanks

That's normal for an amoled scree . I have 5 dots on mine.

Yeps, dark spots are normal.. Had some on my Galaxy S and S2, I was surprised ive got none my S3 but that's just pure luck.

None on my S1/2/3 at all and never seen any. Is there some info out there about the posters trouble being normal or expected?

I would be CGAing my way to repair or replacement if it were me.

Do you have a photo of these 'spots' so we can see how big they are? I am not sure how they would compare with normal defective pixels on a normal LCD screen. With a retina type displays, defective pixels shouldn't be too noticable, but if you are seeing very noticeable spots then you should return it to the retailer. I haven't noticed any on my white one that I picked up yesterday too on special from DSE. I normally wouldn't go for a white phone, but I though the other colours looked worse, and the white one looks quite nice, without the cheap looking brushed effect. I have to admit that apple wins hands down on styling and perhaps screen quality, but on features and price, the samsung wins.

Oh sorry im not sure if how can i get a picture of it cause i think taking a screenshot wont work but here is how to check this thing first you need to be on a dark room or any other dark place after that use your front cam cover the lens with your thumb or whatever take a pic and walla. Oh i made a close inspection this morning and theres another patch on the right top most side of the screen but anyway since its only noticeable on dark room and its not making any issues with me well ill be fine with this one since is normal i guess. thanks mates

I dont think these are pixels.. i think it's under the screen? I saw this first mentioned in the large S2 thread. Something to do with the adhesive behind the screen. I only noticed mine on the S2 when the screen was dark, however 99% of the time, it isnt noticeable.

Anyone know how to swap the bottom 4 icons on the task bar? I initially was able to do it when I first got the phone, but after doing some samsung system updates, it doesn't seem to allow them to be switched anymore. I see other people on the net have also had the same problem. If I try to drag an icon down to replace a taskbar icon, the only option is to delete the icon.
