Just a bit of info regarding flashing different firmware:

I own a GT-N7100T (Telecom variant of the Note 2) and I have successfully flashed the VF GT-N7100 and other GT-N7100 roms. in the past.

Currently running a kitkat version for the N7100 only on it now. Although the initial boot screen that shows the model still shows N7100T.

Firmware: N9005XXUENA6
Country: Poland
Version: Android 4.4.2 - KitKat
Product Code: XEO
PDA: N9005XXUENA6
CSC: N9005OXXENA5

  1. MODEM: N9005XXUENA2

Cauntion:

Phone Bootloader Update must tick at PC Odin3 v3.09, without updating the bootloader, the phone won't success boot to recovery for completing the flashing.
Not suitable to try out if you plan on virgin after root without tripping the KNOX as since MJ7 bootloader will trip the KNOX once root.

I have on several occasions on my note 3 lost all audio from it other than the 3.5mm jack and speakerphone. No sound when making a phone call unless I turn on the speakerphone.

Anyone else seen this? A restart solves it.

Neither, what firmware are you on?

since updating to MJ7 the only oddity i can report is the phone getting stuck in "awake" mode regardless if phone screen is off and phone is being unused - ends up with very large battery drain and "Android OS" showing as the biggest battery user. researching on XDA shows several other Note3 users with the same problem, seemingly stemming back to the way the phone resets itself after being unplugged from a charger or dock - if something interrupts the phone, it doesnt switch out of 'plugged in' mode, and stays awake constantly. this is an occasional issue and not one thats easily repeatable. a reboot resets the state and fixes the problem.

one way to ensure this doesnt happen is to ensure the phone makes its little 'bing bong' unplug sound or undock sound as you remove it - a sudden quick unplug or fumble i guess can confuse the phone and get it stuck on always on.

rooting the phone enables tweaks to solve the problem but then we all know the issues with rooting/knox... looking fwd to official kitkat update... when it finaly rolls to NZ... in like 34 yrs time... ;p

I guess it tripped KNOX installing it?

Should it cause any issues with the 2Degrees Note 3 if it does not trip KNOX?

What is the problem for the Virgin?

I see some people were having battery and SD card problems with the Polish version able to confirm anything on this?

I believe there are new permissions around SD cards in 4.4 - currently only system apps have write access, although userspace apps can read it. Stuffs up Poweramp's ability to only select folders on the SD card as well, although it will happily read all files internal & external if you don't try to manually select external only.

Am looking into it, as there's root fixes, but those don't really interest me right now. For the first time, I'm rather glad Samsung does ship its own file explorer.

I thankfully am not using a SC card coming from a 16GB S3 but I am not going to flash the Polish Firmware onto the phone as it seems to be missing some features which I guess is not available in that country would prefer to wait for the UK BTU firmware and it looks that if you are completely flashing a new legit firmware via ODIN it does not trip KNOX.
There was a person that had a HK Hong Kong firmware on his phone which this firmware did not work on and due to the KNOX bootloader not been downgradeable he has a brick until 4.4 comes out specifically for his device.

Some people have also noted rotation issues in 3rd party apps and that 3rd party covers will not turn the screen off or unlock it when opening the cover.

Pros look to be better battery life which to me is pretty fantastic already on 4.3, some say camera improvements and I am sure there is more.

I flashed this yesterday onto my parallel imported Note 3 from France with no issues so far. Best of all Telecom 4g works without needing any hacks, I can't see any significant new features though other than integrated Google cloud printing.

This is the first time EVER I have seen this... usually 4G or H+ for 3G... now Voda shows as LTE!

Hi Guys,

Anyone know where to get a case like this from in NZ? I have had no luck finding one. ORdered this from ebay however it did not turn up and the seller does not respond so don't want to waste more money with another trader.

It has to be a hard case card holder (not a wallet type)

They sell the 32GB one, You would be best to look on parallel import sites to see if the 64GB one is available carriers seem to go for the lower storage ones here.
