Have a question re cases & screen protectors. Got my 8+ on pre-order a week ago and grabbed a (so called glass) screen protector (thought it was a good idea).

Yesterday I grabbed the Samsung LED cover (which is great and looks good). I have come across a small problem, the case pushes against the screen protector on the edges making the protector sit slightly off the screen which is a pain as sometimes have to press harder to register my press. My question is, does anyone know of a brand of screen protector that fits really well and works with a case (& where to get it from). At this stage I am looking at removing screen protector and just using case.

Same problem here. I bought a good quality tempered glass screen protector from aliexpress. It's fits perfectly, but as soon as you put a case on it, the same problem with the edges not sitting flush happens. I've got a couple of cheap TPU cases coming so will see if they work better than the semi rigid one I have at the moment.

Never had a screen protector on any of my phones , has always been in a case but no protector and never had a problem and I am pretty rough with mine. Would just not your case suffice if it is covering the screen anyway ??

Sleeping outside for 3 weeks for spending $129! Might be easier to get a new Significant other :)

heheh , mate she has put up with me for the last 30 years I would be lost without her. That being said if you had seen what I have spent over the last 2 weeks $129 would certainly put me in the dog box hahahahaha

+1 I hear that mate.. shesh.. 20 years of putting up with my ass.. I was lucky to ninja the S8+ haha.. She got the 256gb card tho..

When i got Note 7 on checking for screen protector they had actually pre applied protector to phone so didn't need one, don't know if this is done on S8. Then when changed to S7 edge hard to get, and got glass one which was useless and after applying and put in case and just cracked. Then tried official samsung screen protector which were ok but kept peeling on edges. Then searched around and got Bodyguardz(just screen protector not full body) which found on ebay and ordered from Singapore $nz15 and received in week. Have had this on phone now about 3 months and very good and no problems with different cases and no peeling on edges. Dont know if have Bodyguardz  screen protector for S8 but probably available, but could not find any local retailers selling this brand.

Getting great battery life on the S8+ (on par with my OnePlus 3T). However, Bluetooth with the car seems to have some issues. Intermittently drops the connection. I have previously connected 4 other phones to the car bluetooth and none of them had any issues. The S8+ is connected to my bluetooth headphones with no issues though.

Aside from that, so far so good. Fingerprint reader not necessarily "bad" but not as great as some other phones. However, have left iris, fingerprint and PIN on so just use whichever option is appropriate at the time.

Active display would be nice but i'm sure there are apps/mods for that - just haven't looked.

Will sell the 256GB microSD card if anyone is keen? Although yea the price has been crushed on Trademe as expected.

Is the S7 Edge Wireless charger and S8 going to be compatible/charge at same rate?

I notice my bluetooth with my car is a little more flaky than it used to be as well. Takes slightly longer to connect.

I have found that the battery life on the s8 is better than the oneplus 3 by a bit.  Sure i miss dash charging for short fast charging however overall I have not found the s8 fast charging that much slower.

Example of this is with my oneplus 3 it would be on 30% when leaving work and would charge to over 90% in 30/40 minute drive home.  The s8 will be on about 42% when i leave work and gets to 85 - 90% on the same trip.

I left my new wireless charger at home (the one from bundle) and use my one I got for S7E at work..

Both seem to charge at the same rate.. works well.. however the newer one is much better imo..

My S8+ sometimes vibrates when I pick it up.

Anyone else seen that behaviour? Maybe I am (unconsciously) pressing something, or the case is?

It is a feature that can be turned off. It vibrates to alert you that there is an unread message (text) or something like an email etc.

It's a feature. "Smart Alert" under Advanced Features in Settings.
