I must admit I have been on and off considering a replacement for my Motorola Xoom which is now about 2.5 years old now. I liked the fact it was GED so it got all the latest Google updates but that stopped with 4.1.2.

My main option was the Nexus 10 but it's hard to find one here to play with.

I then looked at the Xperia Z but don't like the fact that it is also 4.1 (I think).

Finally I discovered that TeamEOS has 4.2.2 ROMS based on AOSP,  for the Xoom and I have flashed those on my Xoom. It's given the Xoom a new lease of life so I can defer upgrades for a while.

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.

After starting this thread ended up getting a Nexus 10.

Awesome device, find it really fast and front speakers are great. Couldn't go back to rear speakers now.

Apart from lagginess which is just a symptom of its age, the rear facing speakers are the biggest bug bear for me on myy Xoom. So I bought the speaker dock which helps a lot but makes it less mobile.
