old3eyes: Anyone got the app to Chromecast OK to their TV??
Klipspringer:langers1972:Klipspringer:langers1972: If only it was Devices!!
I'm in 2 minds about this....
My gut tells me that even if we had devices I would still be buying via the US play store.
That doesn't 'compute'
The devices in the US come with US plugs and the LTE versions don't work here so why on earth would you continue to use the US Playstore?
Bought my nexus 4 and chromecasts via the US playstores.
My comment was more around the prices. Even if we had devices here it would still be cheaper buying via the US.
Aus has devices and its loads more expensive than the same devices in the states.

yeah I did, just low quality (but could of been the sample video I played).
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Yep - I have used it with Chromecast too, but only with movie trailers - haven't bought a movie yet. Worked well but only SD - but maybe the trailers are only in SD anyway.
Are those prices in NZD or USD?
Great to see the number of apps that work with Chromecast gradually growing.

Worked well with an HD movie I purchased, went through uninterrupted and looked good for the entire movie. When I played a free episode of Shaun the Sheep, I had an issue though, the video stopped but the sound continued, potentially from poor wifi coverage on the CC.

I've sometimes found that many wifi routers don't do well with streaming video. They appear to have memory leaks that eventually slow them down until they pretty much cease to operate...and a cold reboot fixes it for a few days.
I didn't really notice the problem until one of the people in our hoousehold started watching a lot of streaming video - hours each day.......and after 2-3 days the Netcomm router would pretty much seize up. I added a second router after the Netcomm and turned off everything in the Netcomm. The second router does all DNS and handles wifi. The Netcomm just passes traffic back and forth in both directions. This means I can now go for about a week without a reboot.....but I still have to cold start the thing every Saturday morning.....The D-Link and TP-Link routers i had before were even worse.

old3eyes: I had a bit of a play with it today which my Chromecast. I'm not impressed with the amount of titles that can be rented compared to iTunes. It seems to be only some of the new ones and most of the rest are buy only especially Sony Pix.
I tried various trailers some were in HD and some in SD though some times I had to have two or three attempts to get them to play.
Wonder what the difference is in the between the US and NZ store or are we the poor cousin again..??
