No OIS on the camera = no sale.

After having it on the brilliant LG G2, I can't NOT have it.

sonyxperiageek: And just if anybody was wondering (and maybe were a bit lazy to check out :) ), the converted time and date for that above Samsung event in NZ is on Tuesday 25th February 2014, at 8:00am.

Unbelievable, could have not picked worse timing. I'll be boarding a flight to Hawaii and will miss it.

So many first world problems.

Optical Image Stabilisation. Reduces the shake of a persons hands using a system of servos and such to reduce blur in images. I'm impressed they can fit it into a phone. Some of my full size camera lenses have it, it is very helpful, but honestly I don't expect it from a phone. Moving parts that can break could be problematic in a hand held device that probably gets dropped occasionally.

Anyone know where I can get a mobile feed to the unpacked event? Is there 4G for VF at the Airport?

If some kind soul could put a directly downloadable link of the event here as soon as they can I might get it in time so I can watch it on the plane!

Thanks muchly.

Well that certainly was a let down from the earlier leaked specs. Really just the S4+ Still only 2GB of RAM. Was expecting them to push the envelope with regards to the screen and camera. Seems all they've done, again, is throw more bloatware in. Design is still massively dull and uninspired.

LG G Pro 2 looks to be my next purchase.

A couple of extra sensors (fingerprint/heart rate), much the same screen (excellent except in bright direct light), some water resistance, faster processor, and more RAM. It's an evolution not a revolution, so there won't be huge numbers of upgrades, but it looks like a good phone to me. Not sure what else you'd want.

I feel underwhelmed and disappointed, I will probably hang on to my S4 for a bit longer and see what the new HTC One has to offer come next month, or maybe look at Sony Z2...

So there isn't going to be a 'premium' version of the S5 is there?

The S5 looks like it's been mashed up with the S2's back and the S4's front!

It seems like Samsung has made their UNPACKED video on YouTube to Private after the live stream. If you wanted to you could always read about it first here then watch the video later? :) I'm guessing it will take a while for the video to be uploaded onto YouTube.

TB claims this is the "best Galaxy yet".. I really don't think so. I still think the Note 3 is better.

I'm not underwhelmed. It's iterative. But i'm not impressed either.

I'm less than impressed with the battery and half-pie fingerprint scanner. All they've done is follow the spec sheets of others. Not that that's bad, just not great.

It'll be a solid phone upgrade for anyone still on a S3 or below type device. I'll keep my S4 though mostly because of the physical size increase to go to the S5. I don't want/need anything larger than the S4.
