Are we getting the Asian flavour with 2.5GHz or 2.3 here in NZ?

Unlocked boot loader? Custom ROMS a likelihood?

There is apparently going to be Developer Edition available as well with unlocked bootloader.

I'd say the normal retail version bootloader is still locked but can be unlocked with the usual warranty issue.

Disappointing. There is no video with your smooth voice.

One thing I did take a moment to confirm is that the issue with SD cards & Samsung devices on 4.4.2 - being unable to create folders on the external SD with third party file explorer apps - is not present on the M8 when using ES File Explorer. This is a big deal for me, as I like to keep my music arranged just so. Friends with indie bands send me demos that need unzipping & moving to folders, & that's just not possible on iOS or Windows Phone (It is on Blackberry 10, funnily enough).

I would assume 2.3GHz - but alas, cannot confirm, as developer/evaluation units have ways of making sure one can't divulge exact specifications. Waiting on the internal spec sheet. ;)

As much as I'd be interested in finding out, some activities do exceed the acceptable parameters for an internal device review!

Wait for a 20% sale, then buy it from Warehouse Stationary at 25% off as they will price match plus another 5% off. That's about $824 I think.

Come on Easter!!!! That was how I got the m7 last year but I didn't go through Warehouse Stationery as they didn't have stock initially.

Purely speculating here but it looks like Vodafone Australia is getting the 2.5GHz variant which supports the 700MHz FDD LTE so probably be a safe bet NZ is getting the same one?
