I understand local builds of Lollipop for the Note 4 and S5 will (finally!) be in test this week.

You're only NOW getting the test build? F*** me Samsung.

How long is it normally with you for testing?

I understand there were some issues with the wider OTA deployment process that needed to be resolved at a global level before local market builds were pushed out for technical approval.

Generally speaking, testing only takes around a week if no major issues are found. I'll let you know when the Note 4's build has been given network approval, then it's back to Samsung to push it out OTA + through Kies.

So assume spark and 2deg have it too?

No idea, we don't have visibility over their testing processes. :)

2d performs minimal changes like we do, Spark devices are generally a little more customised. Historically there have been similar timeframes for update rollouts for flagship devices like these, and as we all share the same hardware variant now I'd expect it to be BAU in this department.

Yup, keep us posted! Such a drag Samsung have taken this long.

Updates are not related to what network the handset is connected to, You should be asking where they obtained the handset from

Headset was bought from PB Tech, i could say there might be something interesting about it, I had it sent back about months ago to be fixed under guaranty and it was replaced by new one but new one had slightly different firmware on it. It had Chinese keyboard on it by default where my original didn't.

So it's an import and not sold by VodafoneNZ so the update is not related to VodafoneNZ testing and approving it
