Read somewhere it was Jan. All depends on our carriers though, if you're waiting for NZ firmware update.

LordVoldemort: What say you, Pius?

PiusThicknesse: One hears many things, my Lord. Which among them is the truth is not clear.

LordVoldemort: Ha! Spoken like a true politician. You will, I think, prove most useful, Pius.

Ok Vodafone NZ purchased Note 4 so no official time frame yet as it's not shown up for testing from Samsung Korea

I wouldn't be too worried about Android 5 as, in my opinion its not as great as everyone seems to make it out to be. I tried CM 12 for a couple of weeks but never been a fan of AOSP and if I was I wouldn't buy Samsung. I flashed a TW custom lollipop rom last week and to be honest haven't noticed any difference sure the interface has changed but most custom Roms can and have been emulating that for ages.

You really need to know why you want it or 'need' it before worrying about when it will be released, the  dev's on XDA are having real issues with it and thats not just Samsung phones.

All the comments deriding manufacturers, Telco's and google just because they want a perceived improvement should take a deep breath as its not easy, given the vagaries of android, to get this out in a workable version.

If you really want a good rom flash a Kitkat custom rom they have made TW a whole lot better.

Samsung are poor at releasing updates as are many Android OR MS. This is in part due service providers. It is also due to the awful state of Android in general, it has become a fragmented mess. Samung is bad though, I have a Galaxy Tab S, it is still running 4.4.2, there is no service provider to blame etc it is purely down to Samsung, the do not care about products they have sold. This attitude will/is hurting them.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

What is wrong with 4.4.2 And please also explain why it's also part service provider?
