timmmay: I'm still waiting to get off 4.4.2 with my S4 -  same with my wife's UK sourced Moto G. By the time they get us to 5.0 I bet 5.2 will be out.

I support a moto g 1st ed on Vodafone. That got 4.4.4 OTA months ago. Same carrier?

I must say I don't really understand the relationships with carriers and OTA and different phone versions. My 2nd ed got 5.0.1 OTA from Vodafone but nothing available.from Motorola.update tool so had to OTA grr.

With the Moto G carrier shouldn't matter.  With my wife's one I had to go and "Check For Updates", it didn't volunteer it..  She's on Spark..

Wife on Vodafone, check for update finds nothing.

Do you understand how the rollout works? Just because an update is available doesn't mean your device will get it, and trying continually won't make any difference.

My Samsung Galaxy Tab S is still on 4.4.2 and I guess it will be still on that version when I give it away in 12 months . it is the last Samsung device I will own.

Just on a side note I purchased my iPhone 6+ last week and it has received 2 updates, the latest yesterday.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

I would guess every Apple user has a fairly good understanding, windowsphone 8+ users to a lesser degree would also, it would be hard to own a device from either for any period of time without receiving updates..... Android on the other hand......

I've only just got 4.4.2for my S4 :)

One thing I noticed, prior to upgrade the phone would frequently notify/beep when charging wirelessly on my s-pad (a common issue with no fix).  This problem has disappeared since the upgrade to 4.4.2.

Nope, not really sure how it works, other than it's restricted in some way to reduce server load. I'd say I check it once every two weeks. I don't know if it checks with Motorola, Google, Vodafone, etc, given it's a UK sourced product on Vodafone. Happy to be educated.

My device is rooted, I deleted the offending sound ;)

I've owned one apple device (an iPod).  Every iOS update made it slower and less stable ...

Nexus 5 on 5.01 here
Don't see any such issues. Performance is great. No camera crashes in the couple of months since the update.

Also Nexus 5 on 5.0.1 here. I have horrible memory leak issues that cause app (including the launcher) to crash constantly. This has persisted through a total handset replacement (warranty) and factory reset. Had no such issues on KitKat.

Yep I have the same thing. Then every day or two the camera just stops working. I try to open the app and it comes up with an error message that says "Can't connect to camera" and I have to reset. Then there is trying to reply to a msg on viber via the lockscreen. Sometimes it gets into some loop where the screen flickers between the message I have half typed and the lock screen at an amazing rate (probably 20 times a second) and I have to press the power button to get out of it. Then unlock the phone and retype the message in viber. Very annoying. And all of this has still persisted even after a hard reset.

That completely contradicts my own experiences, mind you I have at some stage or another done full resets on all our devices

One thing I have learn't over the years (especially with Android) is that if it is a major OS update you are best to wipe and clean install

I found taking a freakin big hammer to the iPod and buying an S4 solved the problem admirably.

So what was the trigger for the offending sound?  Was it battery 100% or wireless charger detected or .... ?

I still get one beep and illuminate when I first put the phone on the charger (as you would expect) and one more when the phone is 100% charged, which is no drama.

I've been running stock Lollipop on my M7 One since December and have had no issues/bugs/etc (other than the capacitive buttons do not light up as they did on 4.4.4), everyone talks like it is a dog, in reality it is quite the opposite, 4.4.4 seemed buggier
