When I signed up for a plan and got my iPhone 7 plus, they offered me $600 credit towards my account so I essentially got the phone far cheaper then retail.

I think I'd rather take a credit over a preorder bundle, otherwise some good looking bundles besides the few obvious crap ones

Yeah I got $600 off my S8+ and the rest were just interest free payments over 12 months when my plan rolled over and I upgraded.

I'm tempted, but not sure about the cameras. I love the dual cameras in my lgg5, with one giving a 135degree field of view, and the other a 75 degree field. I find the wide angle very useful. Samsung does the opposite I think, one with 75 degree, one with only 45 degrees. I just can't see a 45 degree camera being that useful, and I'll really miss the wide angle. Maybe I'm better with the lgv30.

Has anyone else tried the dual cameras like this that effectively give a zoom, rather than a zoom out? Do you find it useful? I think the last note was this way too.

Also the initial camera reviews don't seem to be as incredible as Samsung would have us think...

Just had a play with an S9 (at JB Wairau Park). They have a camera demo unit 'box' there, which lets you take a low light photo, and a super slo-mo video. Low light looks pretty impressive, and the photo I took with it looked a lot better than the same one I took on my iPhone 7. Super SloMo is a bit of a gimmick IMO, but it looked really cool.

Phones themselves are very nice (they have an S9 and S9+ on display), but pretyy much exactly the same as the S8 models to look at and hold.

I ended up preordering through Spark because they had $200 off which was more useful than the free stuff I wouldn't use and a wireless charger will be a useful upgrade from the one I had from my S7.

I pre-ordered from PB Tech, one of their bundles was the most appealing to me. Will just stick with my $59/month 10GB data plan with Vodafone. Zero incentive to go on a contract.

Does anyone know the difference between the Spark, Vodafone and 2degrees variants? They all have different model numbers.

No they don't they're all the same.

Only difference is the pre installed carrier apps and the spark variant has a spark boost animation.

@restecp That is quite incorrect actually hardware is the same but behind the scenes all handsets are quite different and setup with different network features enabled or disabled by default

Then you have the bandscan setup on power which is different again

Nope he asked about model numbers being different... they aren't.

Agreed the firmware is different but other than being fine tuned for the specific carrier there is no difference other than what's stated in my original post.
