We are proud to announce that we are the authorised retail partner for New Zealand.

I assume judging by the WHOIS on the mi-store.co.nz domain, it's going to be all PB, just a PB that only sells Mi Products...

My interpretation was it was going to be an official Mi store, owned and run by PBTech. As an "Authorised Retail Partner" rather than a parallel importer. I hope that is the case, although if PB are the only ones selling the stuff in NZ, I won't hold my breath for cheap prices.

Where did you see that? The Redmi 6 has band 28, but I can't find a Redmi Note 6 version with it (Pro or otherwise). I do know that the Taiwan/Mexican variant of the Redmi Note 5 had b28 while the Global didn't, but it wasn't easy to get, so you might be seeing a similar Note 6 version I haven't found.

Thanks - so as with the previous generation they will be having a band 28 and non-band 28 version. Looks like all the standard Chinese resellers currently just have the non-band 28 version (of Note 5 or 6), but the NZ store should hopefully stock the b28 one rather than having to resort to overpriced ebay resellers.

If having a NZ store just means that New Zealand will finally be a selectable location on stock MIUI that will be something :)

Nice to see another tech store @ Sylvia Park... there's sooo many places selling home wares / clothes / shoes and other massive mark-up items. I wonder how much this will hurt Noel Leeming and JB HiFi in the mall?

From what I have heard, grand opening is 11/11

Ah, I see, wouldn't be surprised if that was the case since 11/11 is the Chinese Singles day where sites like Alex press run annual Singles Day promos on things like electronics amongst other things.

Hmmm.
Remembrance Day Centennial. Hope their advertising isn't anything crass if they do open that day.

Pretty excited about this might actually drive 3 hours to auckland just to see what they've got, hopefully they stock the Mi 8 SE their snapdragon 710 with a samsung amoled screen that goes for 385 at aliexpress that's their highest spec phone that doesn't get hit by import tax.

https://www.pbtech.co.nz/news/1468/Mi-Store-Coming-to-New-Zealand

We are proud to announce that we are the authorised retail partner for New Zealand.

From early next month you will be able to shop the impressive range of Mi products from their new retail store in the southern end of Auckland’s Sylvia Park Shopping Centre.

I'm not quite sure if I'm interpreting this correctly, but does this mean that this new "authorised Mi Store" is still PB warranty and logistics in the end?

Also at PBTech Prices
