I suspect that they are parallel imports . I.E LTE bands. FDD LTE: 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/17/20/25/26/66 | TDD LTE: 38/40/41
No band 28 (700) so only good in the metro areas with band 3 (1800) no good in the country areas.
Buyer be where

eranda: Hi Guys, Moto G7 is way cheaper in Dick Smith than PBTech. Actually you can get Moto G7 Plus from the Dick Smith, for the same price you pay for G7 at PBTech. Even with the delivery different is just $10.
What are the actual difference between buying from Dicksmith and PBTech?
In addition to possible technical differences covered by the post above, the other big difference is buying from an NZ bricks & mortar store vs an overseas online only retailer.
So no CGA coverage - rather, you'll have to rely on DSE's own offerings (my one experience of dealing with Koogan - which owns DSE - for a faulty product went fine, but that was faulty on delivery; I would doubt they'll entertain dealing with a faulty product a day out of its warranty period, not something you need to worry about if covered by CGA).
Also, there's a decent amount of chatter on here about whether or not DSE covers GST etc if over the limit; I don't know if this applies to these phones (unsure of price), but is something to be wary of.
Thanks, guys for the replies. I just noticed that PBTech has stock for G7Plus.
A bit of history of the phones, we have had
Moto G1 (me)
Moto G2 (wife)
Moto G4 (me - now)
Moto G5 (wife - now)
So now looking for Moto G7 for me. But I remember I got G4 from Amazon for $240 including shipping 2 years ago. But now G7 price has doubled. (Maybe flagship phone prices have gone up relatively, which means the dollor value is depreciating :))
Whatever, my question is about Motorola One Vision and struggling to take a decision over Moto G7 Plus and One Vision, any thoughts?

From what I can see the OneVision is vanilla Android and you should get guaranteed updates for 3 years unlike the others maybe 2 years. My old G4+ just updated to Android 8 two weeks ago.

As others have noted, Dick Smith is unfortunately no longer the Dick Smith we knew and is operated as a branded storefront by Australian ecommerce retailer Kogan. They are selling parallel imported models which aren't the same hardware variants as sold in AU/NZ and don't support the same network bands or have local warranty.
PB is proudly selling Motorola NZ stock. :)
I am a long-time fan of Moto as a brand and have worked alongside many folks who used to work for the company. There's something so delightfully Business Time about them, it is a brand which needs no introduction, and their high degree of reliability/incredibly low failure rate (sub 1% as the authorised repair agent, FoneFix, can attest) is partly why I have outfitted my parents with Moto G devices. Saves on family tech support.
A lot of the high-spec, low-cost mid-range smartphones end up cutting a lot of corners to achieve their price points. With Motorola you get a more robust and reliable package, like the water-repellant nanocoating, better mobile network reception, or a high-quality fast charger included in the box.
Moto have recently scored a massive win in that Telstra AU have ranged the Moto G7 Power, and it is reportedly selling hand over fist to Australian enterprises and government departments.

Good spotting! A small shipment of G7 Plus jumped the gun and is available now, the rest are due very soon.
It's an interesting proposition between One Vision and G7 Plus given the small price difference. G7 Plus has:
One Vision has:
Happy to take photos or perform any comparisons that may be of use as I have both devices on hand, there'll be a hands-on video going up in the near future. They are very different phones in hand with the One Vision being tall and narrow and the G7 Plus being quite a bit wider.
Given you're using the G4 now, the One Vision is likely the more comparable as form factors go, if you imagine your phone being a lot taller!

TENKAN: NikT have pbtech got demo models for both the G7 and one vision at the Penrose store,as I'd appreciate to be able to check and compare before choosing which to buy
Not just yet, they're coming very soon. I'll post up on here once everything is out in full. 👍

Thanks, NikT for the detailed explanation. Yeah, I think it is better to stick with the Moto G7 Plus. And just realized that you guys are charging 2.5% for credit card payments :(
eranda: Hey does anyone know which exact model number of Moto G7 Plus PbTech have?
XT1965-2 or XT1965-3?
According to the specification listed in PBtech website it is XT1965-3.
But in Amazon has listed XT1965-2 as the international version and under specification it has mentioned LTE 28. See below.
Motorola Moto G7+ Plus (64GB, 4GB RAM) Dual SIM 6.2" 4G LTE (GSM Only) Factory Unlocked Smartphone International Model XT1965-2 (Red) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NP515QH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_R2phDb49RGKQA
I'm confused again now.
XT1965-3 is correct.
There are many different hardware versions sold around the world, with many different software versions per hardware version. ANZ stock is XT1965-3 on the RETAPAC software channel.
Barring the unforeseen, the new Motos should all launch early next week with demos in all PB stores.

Notice you have the one vision only in bronze on the site, will you be getting sapphire ones too?

Alrighty! Moto G7 series - G7 Power, G7, and G7 Plus - alongside Motorola One Vision are now in stock at all PB stores. Demo units are being set up today.
They are all really quite nice and a big jump in processing power over Moto Gs past. Keen to hear what folks think after having a tinker with them.
