Does anyone know when this will be available in New Zealand? It was released in Australia earlier this month.

I got my wife's G5 on Amazon.com. The updates screen is in Spanish, otherwise it's worked fine all over the country, including playing Spotify using a data connection driving Wellington to Auckland with only a few times it has no coverage.

I'd rather pay a little more for local warranty support when spending circa $500 on a phone.

Edit: The price on Amazon.com is almost equivalent to Australian retail pricing, once you add GST.

It does seem to be missing in action here in NZ.  My old Moto G4 has died and I'm looking at the G7 as it's replacement.

I think it would make a nice upgrade from my Huawei P9 Lite, which has 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage.

Motorola told me:

Good day!

Thank you for contacting Motorola Mobility Support. We can see how excited you are to have and review the device once it's released and we're here to assist you.

Motorola is always looking to release further updates regarding the release information of Moto G7 so that we can inform others like yourself who are as excited and interested as you are. Going directly to your question, Motorola has not decided yet on when will the Moto G7 be launched in New Zealand. We are still waiting for the confirmation of its availability in the region. These future releases, of course, will be advertised to provide more information such as distribution channel and availability date. I would suggest visiting our website from time to time for any update of our upcoming Motorola product in New Zealand.

In the region??  Isn't NZ in the same region as Australia which has had the G7 for a month plus. Sounds like Motorola do not want to know about NZ.

NZ launch of the G7 range is in the works - there have been some changes in distribution. Hopefully not too far away now.

I loved the G series, I feel like the are starting to lag behind hardware wise. Comparable phones from the likes of Nokia, Samsung and Xiaomi are far higher spec'd for the price. My major issue is the SD 632, from my experience they are fairly slow for anything but basic tasks and apps.

Isn't it SDM636 for the G7, it might be throttled back to 1.8GHz instead of 2.2GHz but still useful.

Snapdragon 632 in G7 regular flavour and G7 Power, Snapdragon 636 in G7 Plus.

Should be launching in roughly four weeks' time.
