I have family in Australia and visit fairly regularly, so asked JB Hi-Fi Australia if I purchased a Pixel 3a from them whether I could obtain warranty service in New Zealand. Unfortunately, the answer is no.

Warranty service is only available in the countries Google sells the device:

Unfortunately Google thinks of NZ as a part of the tech 3rd world.

I bought mine from JB HiFi Aus, and interestingly the warranty card inside the box refers to "Australia & New Zealand" throughout, not sure if that changes things?

I think the issue is there aren't any authorised service agents in New Zealand. You'd have to ship it back to Australia for repair.

Update, successfully picked up my parcel in Singapore
Found a screen protector and hard case at a local IT mall ... seperated the phone from the box and had no issues with customs.

Currently setting the phone up, but so far very happy with the device

I think it's a fantastic phone at this price point. Camera and Android experience being the big positives. It's fairly slippery so if you're prone to dropping things I'd recommend a case.

Currently using one. Overall experience and feel of the thing is very similar to a nexus.just a simple, affordable pure Android experience with good camera.

Having said that I'm getting a mi 9 se from banggood for 406nzd shipped for my wife as spec wise it is an upgrade in every single way. (I just don't like MIUI)

Brought a 3aplus today and so far it's performing excellently. Will likely replace my s10 plus with this, performs better and 700 bucks cheaper!

I ended up not getting one, looked at them and ummed and ahhed over it while we were in the UK but then got a ridiculous deal on the 3XL for only £10 more than the small 3A, complete no brainer to upgrade to the bigger device and top end specs for only $20, also got my girlfriend a normal pixel 3 for less than the 3a as well.

The camera on the 3's is ridiculous, night sight takes some incredible photos. Took some of of the sunset out of the plane window on our way back here and they've come out looking great. If it's the same hardware and software in the 3A you won't be disappointed.

I've been using mine since Wednesday full time and it is taking some getting used to compared to the LG G6; part of that is muscle memory however

I really miss the dedicated switch apps button

Haven't used the camera at all (never used it on the G6 either)

You can turn on three button navigation l believe. At least you can in Android Q beta which I am running atm.

Picked one up from Melbourne and made sure to get the TRS refund on it too.

Loving it. Much prefer the google vanilla UI over my old S7.

Battery is great

Camera is amazing. Took it to concert the night I got it, got some amazing shots.

It is fairly slippery, case is a must.

I know the CPU is meh, but it's well optimized and feels fast.

Very happy with it. Reminds me of my old 5X but with much nicer screen/camera/battery.

From what I can see in Wikipedia, only band 32 is supported by the EU/APAC models but not the North American models. It looks like the band is mainly used in Italy, so shouldn't be an issue for here in NZ.
