I see that you are all enjoying the Kool-Aid.
I feel more secure using paywave because I am not exposing my pin infront of everyone else in the queue and my phone is lockable unlike a piece of plastic with permanant numbers embossed in it which makes it very hard to cover up. Sooner all the cards go to being flat like the visa light card the better. Black nailpolish and noone can see the numbers on those.
How many people here are actually using NFC on their phone regularly?
I've had Android phones for the last 8 years and I've yet to have a device with NFC support. I'm not buying back into NZD $1000+ feature phones any more.

My phone would certainly do it. I just struggle to see the point of it.

I used it all the time prior to being given a Garmin watch with Garmin Pay, which I now use most of the time instead.
Of course in small Napier, there's only ~25% of stores that accept Paywave.
But yea, while I was training for my Marathon paywave on my watch was awesome - great for getting a cool drink from the local dairy on the way home.
Certainly though you'd be mad to buy a phone just so you can use Paywave with it. It's a "nice to have" at best.
Use it often, great tech. Much easier and in most places it means I can leave wallet at home

Since coming back here from Australia where I could use Apple Pay everywhere, NZ companies need to step it up and take contactless payments. I got so used to not carrying my wallet with me.
