I guess the big 'news' (not that it wasn't foreshadowed) is the inclusion of an internal S-Pen in the Ultra. A final melding of the S and Note lines. Other than that it appears an iterative update for the standard and plus models.
I stepped off the S treadmill (having got even numbered models since the S6) when I got my Z Fold3. So what I'm hoping is Samsung will include an internal S-Pen in the next Fold.

PB's offer (at least for the non-ultra) is $100 PB voucher. Pretty lame unfortunately. Looks like bundles are no longer the norm, and for once Samsung NZ has better value.

Update: Correction, my mistake, it was for the S21FE. Nothing on the PB site yet for the S22 series.

Noel Leeming have them up as well including:

Samsung galaxy buds pro and $100 NL voucher on S22/S22+
Samsung galaxy watch 4 and $150 NL voucher on S22 ultra

I ore registered with Samsung and they said those that did would get a $200 off voucher so I'll let that play out. Could be worth using that and the $300/$500 Samsung voucher to add extras of my choosing could be nice. I've never owned a Samsung phone but now their support is up there with Google's for updates and I'm really struggling to find a device that ticks all my boxes. I'm interested to hear about the batteries though as they seem small this time around.

Also seems we are getting the exynos version not the Snapdragon one if that was gmswaying anyone.

Thanks, although I thought that 2Degree gets the same phone from Samsung NZ.

If what you say is true, then I wonder which variant of the below will PBTech get from 2D:

  • one Nano SIM and one eSIM OR
  • two Nano SIMs and one eSIM

Nope! We have the Snapdragon variants.

https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s22-ultra/specs/

We have the E variant which is for Asia and Africa and A-NZ.

We're skipping Exynos!

Also the bundled discounts you get with the e voucher from Samsung are better value in my eyes.

Hi where did you see that please? All the leaks pointed to NZ/Oceania getting the Snapdragon version!

Damn, if Samsung aren't selling the dual nano sim version guess I'll be skipping this one.

Hope that is true!

Downsides of having Kogan sim and having to get a work sim card that is also nano :( A bit annoying that Vodafone has been promising e-Sim since 2020. Every time I walk into store they say "yes we should have it by end of this year" and its 2022 now..

IronH:

XinfinityoO: Where is the spec page? Does NZ come with snapdragon chip, also has any1 recieved the code for 200$ discount that was offered during pre-register

I haven't recieved mine yet, and there was a chart showing which regions were getting Snapdragon, NZ was shown as getting Snapdragon this year so hopefully that holds true.

Pricing seems fair on a base model S22 this year at just $1299, but the deals so far aren't as good as previous years.

Samsung NZ website offering $300 evoucher, JBHifi offering $100 JBHifi voucher. Sadly no freebies like Buds or anything this year though. Fingers crossed HN, NL, or PBtech have some better deals.

NL are on their site, they are pretty much in line with the others out there. Seems Samsung are offering the best as the $300 is at least flexible to spend on buds, chargers and cases at the same time you purchase the phone, it's a bit more dynamic freebies than they usually do. Check their site carefully though as on my phone it has a out 5 choices, on my laptop is has a lot of tabs not obviously present on my phone. If the $200 registration and $300 voucher stack I'd be tempted by an S22 from them, but now I look and think is it worth upgrading to the plus for that 4500mah battery, 3700 just seems small nowadays.
