I would also like to know where you ordered from? And was it the Global Version?

So impressed by the battery on the 13, currently on 24% with 2 days standby time and SoT is 5.5hrs!!

On S24U with 2 days standby, the battery would have had maybe 15% or less left and nowhere near as many SoT hours.

Hi all,

OnePlus fan strongly considering upgrading to the 13 from the 7T. My reasons for upgrading, other than the specs bump, would be because of the 3G network shutdown and because the battery is rapidly degrading now.

Regarding the alert switch triggering the "find" action in chromium browsers, I just tried on my 7T (stock firmware, android 12) and this issue happens for me too. I've never encountered this before, however, because I've always used firefox android for the ad blocker πŸ˜€. Thanks @MaxineN for testing on different browsers with the Oneplus 12.

Regarding battery life, my OnePlus 7T used to easily give me 2 days of standby time when it was brand new. That's despite having a much smaller battery (3800mAh vs 6000mAh) and 7nm processor versus 3nm.

Your experience with the 13 seems consistent with other reviewers online, in that it's very difficult to drain the battery despite heavy use all day, and that you could get 2 days standby out of it.

What's happened in the last 5 years for battery life to plateau despite the battery being larger and the processors theoretically more efficient? I doubt this is a problem with just oneplus or I would've heard more about other flagships lasting several days.

One thing I've been wondering (which is why I just made a new account here) is with NFC and google pay.

With NTS/MotuMove set to roll out in the next few years, I'm wondering if this will work with the screen off, or alternatively with the screen on but the phone locked.

I just used my flipper zero on my 7T... It can read the type of card when the phone is locked (e.g. visa debit) but doesn't get the card number unless the phone is unlocked. When the screen is off, the flipper fails to detect anything.

I'm wondering if someone can try it out with the 13 just to make sure. Thanks in advance!

Not sure why there was no GST to pay, even the invoice they emailed me didn't mention GST but it was in NZ$.

Before placing the order I chatted with their customer service asking specifically about custom duty/GST, they said no custom duty or GST to pay, just pay the extra $19 shipping fee.

Did they put in a lower value on the customs form?

On the camera front can you tell me if the selfie camera is as good or better than the Samsung S23U or S24U?

The custom form was damaged on arrival so couldn't see details on it.

Resolution wise selfie camera is 32MP on the 13 vs 12MP on the S24U but quality is so subjective so can't confirm which one is better than/or equal to the other tbh. Also I hardly ever take selfies so don't really take much notice.

Been out grocery shopping this morning, NFC & Google Wallet/Google Pay works at the Pak n Save EFTPOS terminals no problems but phone needs to be unlocked, which I think is a security requirement anyways.

From the supposed Oneplus nz store, obviously it’s just a reseller but I really didn’t want to have to use the china model. It’s possible that I’ll never receive any support but I’m okay with that, should be here tomorrow though and I’ve only just ordered on Thursday so pretty quick shipping at least
