marak210: Anyone tried to update their N1 to froyo recently? The original link seems to be dead. Anyone know somewhere else to download it?

I have the file if you want it. I'm assuming your phone is NOT rooted?

If it is rooted, just get the rooted one from modaco.

Thanks :)
I think I have found a place to download it from but if not how would you send it to me?

I'd make a private torrent on my server at home and email you the Magnet link. You'd then use a bittorrent client to download it. It's about 44MB if I recall correctly.

Thank you, but i found a link. I also had to do a small update before the 2.2 update.

Interestingly apparently this build thats floating around isnt the final 2.2 release and that everyone should expect another OTA to update on top of that one.

Yeah apparently the final official release is still coming. Still nothing for the AT&T / XT spec N1, even in an unofficial state :(

A patch/upgrade was released on Friday night for Froyo, updates the version from FRF50 to FRF72. Apparently it contains some fixes for the Wifi radio. Has anyone else upgraded and noticed anything material?

Apparently it's still not "final" though...

Yes I downloaded that but haven't installed it. I think  I will just wait for the final. I am having some issues with the wifi radio. Even when I am in strong wireless range, the phone drops to 3G. I can see that on the display and when it happens, I just go into Setings/Wireless and Networks and without doing anything else, the phone locks back onto the wifi signal. I have no idea if that is what the wifi problem is, but the workaround is pretty trivial.

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.

The official release of 2.2 was reported to be happening 21st so perhaps sometime tomorrow our time?

I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.

Nice to know I'm not the only person who's noticed that. Unfortunately for me I downloaded a couple of songs yesterday before I realized what was happening and I've blown 70% of my 120MB with Telecom in only 2 weeks. Just gonna hafta be careful I s'pose. 50c per-MB for going over doesn't sound terribly appealing. Maybe time to get the 240MB :D

Or switch to VF (probably can't if you have the AT&T N1) where they charge $10 for another 100MB.

Same problem here.  Ever since the upgrade to FRF50, I have had to toggle Wifi off and on the get it to reconnect to the router at home.  Seems to be a bit flakey, and to be honest the latest patch doesn't seem to have resolved that, although its still early days.

None of either FRF50 or FRF72 will preclude an update to the final release of 2.2, in fact we should be able to OTA update as well.  I am hoping in the final release there are some software tweaks to the touchscreen interface as I find it a bit haphazard from time to time - eg coming out of the sleep/locked state occasionally it is totally unresponsive unless I sleep/lock it again and repeat.

Patching is up to FRF85B as of today. I have gone progressively from FRF50 to FRF72 to FRF83, and now this.

See this link:

http://www.androidcentral.com/another-nexus-one-build-frf85b-making-rounds

Note, scroll down to the comments and it contains a link for the full update for the AT&T (850MHz) N1 version to Froyo FRF85B.

Given they have gone to the trouble of updating the AT&T frequency N1, which had previously been left out of the (still unofficial) process, I think we can conclude that the final version is close if not live (ie FRF85B is it).

Couldn't wait for Froyo so I put CM-5.0.8 on the other day. Can't seem to upgrade to stock 2.2 Froyo though using these two:
94f103b38c726fe17a5ff8e7676a737b *signed-passion-ota-42745.dc39ca1f.zip
1efc3236bb628b3c0b69f30b6e55b9a2 *signed-passion-FRF85B-from-EPE54B.75b107d6.zip

Getting an error:
E:No signature (411 files)
E:Verification failed
Installation aborted.

On both the EPE54B upgrade and the full OTA update:
http://android.clients.google.com/pa...5.dc39ca1f.zip

Renamed to "update.zip", definitely no double-extensions either :-/

Any ideas? Have the AT&T version of the N1

There is a small note on Android Police about anyone with a non stock recovery image not being able o upgrade just yet.

Shouldn't be long until this is rectified.
