You can get it here

http://android.clients.google.com/packages/passion/signed-passion-FRF50-from-ERE27.1e519a24.zip

Early reports say it's genuine (well it's from google's site so it should be) and that it will only work on a stock N1 that was designed for T-Mobile's network (not the AT&T version).

I have it - might just wait a day or so to see what if any problems occur.

I never got the OTA update for 2.1 here so I suspect won't get it for 2.2 either so this is the faster if only way to get it.

Installed and running, no problems. So far looking great, off to try flash !

I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.

I couldn't wait and installed it also. Had me worried a bit when the swirling lines were on the screen for a while and then when it started my diary was empty as it resynced from Google's servers but all is good now. Haven't done any speed tests but looks okay so far.

Haha. Looks very fast so far, much smoother. Flash works. Handcent FC on exit but that will get sorted no doubt.

Still no sign of it for the AT&T/Rogers/TelecomXT customers though :( Will come out eventually i guess, but it's the weekend so would be nice to get it before Monday.

I tell a lie. It FC's after sending a SMS. Also ChompSMS does the same thing so Google has made some changes to the way SMS works without telling 3rd party developers. Oh well - back to the stock SMS application.

So??? How is Flash and the new Android update treatin' y'all? Enquiring Desire owners want to know! Although Paul OBrian is promising a Desire 2.2 within the week, its still a long time to wait for that frozen-yogurty goodness...

I have one stock Nexus One and one that's rooted. Both are Vodafone / T-Mobile flavour.

Both phones got the Android v2.1 OTA update within 2 hours of being turned on in the first week of April.

I just updated the stock phone to Android v2.2.

The new "Automatic-update" feature is in the Market.
The Wifi Tether and Hotspot is in Wireless settings and it works really well.
The new launcher is there. I've seen it before on modded ROMs. Google must have picked it up.

The upgrade went flawlessly. The radio is updated as part of the update.

I have CyanogenMod 5.0.6 on the other phone so if I can upgrade it at all I'll likely have to restore it to stock first so the unlocked bootloader is the only difference to a stock phone. I'll probably try it just for fun....mindful that this version hasn't been rooted yet.

The alternative is to just wait a bit for Cyanogen to compose his v6.0 from the AOSP Android v2.2 source. That may take a few hors, days or weeks. Perhaps toward to the shorter end of the cale given Google has released this update barely 24 hours after Google I/O ended.

I'm very pleased Google have already released the update....and pleased with the new functionality. Awesome.

Instructions are here.

That's nice but I wish they had included BT tethering. That would save having to carry a cable around all the time.

The Flash support wasn't working for me.......

The animated box on adobe.com isn't animated.
The videos at news.bbc.co.uk don't play.
The videos at dailymotion.com don't play.

I did a factory reset and that did enable a couple of features that weren't there before, so I guess if you're not seeing something you expect to see, try a factory reset. No problem for me as that stock phone has been barely used...so no big deal.

In the end, on the BBC web site, I touched one of the "Get the latest Adobe Flash version for your platform"....and the system went to the Android Market and I was able to download Adobe Flash Player v10.1 BETA for Android.

Yep! I can now play flash videos straight off of the BBC web site, either embedded in the page or in full screen. Plus...all the flash ads I couldn't see before have now appeared.

Oh joy. ;-)

The wifi tether doesn't require a cable tothe PC / handheld....and uses 3G to talk to the world.

???

OK - I get it. I am used to using my phone as a modem via BT. Looks like this implementation is, you create an Internet connection over 3G and then turn your phone into a hotspot that your PC can access over wireless. I guess it's just a different way of doing it.

Trap for unwary players. The OS has Flash support but you need to download the player which is in the market. Works quite well - nice job.
