Mine was ordered from Handtec dot co dot uk.  Fantastic service, ordered it on Monday was in fedex depo wellington 4.00pm friday.  If they delivered it would arrive on the following monday, so i went to the depo myself and had it by 5pm Friday.  ole!

Fantastic device, perfect size having used the iPad for a bit this fills the gap between phone and 13inch laptop/ netbook nicely.  Used it at meetings for reading powerpoints, altering excel spreadsheets and email with no problems.  Have a leather case (so it looks like a diary basically) and screen protectors on there way.
Fits nicely in a business suit jacket inside pocket, so carrying it during work hours is sweet as. or of course since its replaced my large folder, in my hand comfortably.

Applications run well, firefox beta would've/will be good but at this stage crashed the bjzus out of it lol.  Settled for Dophin HD with froyo full screen and it works great.
Bluetooth works fine, video playback is sharp and sound is good.  took some photos and they're ok.  i mean its not for the camera purists, but i was pleasantly suprised with the Panorama view shots in bright sunlight on the 3mp camera.

in short. get it. get one now.  uk was less the vat so it made it cheap enough.

Lol, I completely agree.

My only criticism is the lack of a notification led. Having to constantly enable the screen to check if I've missed a call is beginning to suck.
I also used the gps with Navigon software (posted in another android thread) for an hour long trip this morning and couldn't believe how warm the back of the tab got. Almost too uncomfortable to hold. Need to do some more testing though...

You guys just need big gorilla hands like me if you're having issues using it as a phone :)

Expansys have the tab listed for a reasonable price (near enough NZ$1000+GST, so about $1200 including shipping), I've come very close to hitting the "Buy" button a few times. The price from Handtec looks like it'd be virtually identical once landed.

Has the tab got a FroYo firmware for it yet or is it still sitting on 2.1?

I'm pretty keen on one, the iPad is just a bit too big for me to cart about in my satchel, but I'd still want a nice pouch or folder-style case or something for it as I like to keep things tidy - anyone found something suitable?

It comes with 2.2 installed.

As for making a call without a headset, gorilla hands aren't required.  Just the ability to not look self-conscious while holding it to you head :)

Seriously though, you'll find you won't be holding it to your ear.  Because of the the speakers, it functions more like a speaker phone than a normal handset.  Which isn't so great if you need to have a discreet chat in a crowded space...

They _are_ a Korean company, so if they intend their native populace to use the device, they probably don't expect people to try using it like a regular phone anyway. As a general rule, Koreans don't tend to be imbued with immense mitts like us ham-fisted Westerners. :)

JaffaNZ: What case did you order?

Have you tried noLED on the Tab? Works a treat on the SGS. Tiny app that puts a coloured pseudo LED on your 'sleeping' screen so notifying you of received SMS, Gmail and email messages. Probably make your Tab 'perfect'. Smile

Have you guys been able to get any video calling done on it through any app?

My dad got one on the weekend, its nice and i'd say 90% of the apps support it.
