FYI I've posted a question on XDA about a flashable version of my stock ROM, in order to return to defaults if I screw up with a custom ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1416112

It says:

Hi all

I want a stock ROM to be able to return to before I gain root and apply a custom ROM.

Model Number: GT-P7510 Android version: 3.1 Kernel version: 2.6.36.3 root@DELL127 #1 Build Number: HMJ37 P7510XWKI2

I can't find this in any forum here, nor on samfirmware nor sammobile.
Can anyone help me?

And as a bonus question, can anyone advise what the 3.2 build number would be for this model?

TIA from NZ

I still don't have the update either. So frustrating! Anyone find a solution?

Did you check my last two posts? regarding changing back to 3.1 stock ROM? The main issue for me was I applied the first rev of the 3.2 update before it was pulled.  But under software version is still stated it was 3.1.  So I was running a different 3.1 firmware from the stock 3.1 firmware.  Changing back to the stock 3.1 firmware and running KIES software gave me the correct 3.2 firmware update etc.

Thanks, but I was hoping for something straightforward. I can see myself ruining my tablet altogether by attempting that procedure! Might just have to wait until Samsung sort things out.

Ah understood... the procedure wasn't too bad but yeah, anything could happen.  But then again, you could get struck by lightning and you would be denied access to heaven because you are only running Android 3.1 on your TAB :)

lol

Anyway, I suspect the broken update won't get fixed with a revised 3.2 push, and there's a good chance that the push of 4.x might not fix it either - it was not a problem in the ROM itself, but rather an issue with the way the push was handled.

I've long since given up on the stock rom, am now on a custom 3.2, and will be trying one of the CM9 KANG builds of ICS this weekend.
I don't see any reason to run a Samsung ROM except for warranty purposes, and that's what NANDROID backups are for.

Success! Checked for updates last night and there it was.?Took about 45 minutes and now its working fine. Only issues I had was with Swype not working, and Allshare doesn't seem to work with my ps3 media server yet. Swype works now but I had to change it to US English and disable UK English.

Now if my $100 cash back finally arrives from Samsung I'll be happy.

Yeah just wirelessly. Hadn't checked it for a couple of weeks but I just happened to check last night and there it was. Previously I was checking with kies as well, almost daily.

Updated mine last night - not using Kies just did the manual check in the Setting section - which is odd anyway as it had a checkbox checked to automatically update. Anyway it works - it took a while. No immediate noticable differences apart from a couple of new apps - I think I read somewhere someone thought the broswer is better/faster.
One issue I had was Swype was not working properly after the update. I sorted this via Manage Applications and deleted the cache and the other thing you can delete (can't remember offhand) and then it worked fine.

Cheers

Hi - to put your mind at rest I got my cashback OK.  It seems  a lot of vendors are doing this - I got an Epson printer for peanuts with cashback - however they probably follow the "gillette" model - ie sell you the product cheap then charge a fortune for the subsequent things (inks/razor blades)

Samsung ran a promotion in December that you get $100 cash back if you filled in some forms. You had to purchase it during a particular time frame though.

How long ago did you receive your money? I'm getting nervous that I haven't heard anything yet since I already had the run around from them at the start. The place I bought it from didn't know anything about it, they didn't have any of the forms, then Samsung wouldn't return my emails about it.
