Having started my Android experience with an HTC Desire, I'd be keen to get stuck in to One of the new HTC models to see how they've evolved since then.

I'm currently supporting about a dozen Android devices between customers and family.

(I'm probably going to need your off-shore bank account number Mauricio!)

My Andriod experience has been limited to getting my daughter's phone up and running, but I've been keeping up to date on geekzone with an updating wishlist in my head of which handset I would buy when I get a chance.. HTC was on it for a while with the Sensation, and the HTC ONE looks like it will be knocking the Galaxy Note from the top of my current wishlist.

I'm interested, I'm from Auckland and Like BigHammer I have spent a lot of time with the HTC Desire, Across different ROM's as well as a number of other customizations.

To "huntlai" I would suggest that perhaps Android is not as much about a clean and simple experience although I'm sure one Manufacturer will get it right soon enough, Android to me seems more about the ability to customize anything however you want it which makes sense in a time where phones are run by Apps.

I would imagine that like me a lot of people value the ability to customize their device to suit themselves higher than having everything set specifically right out of the box to the point of being unable to change it.

Perhaps the new Sony devices? But more likely something to do with the HTC One range I'd say.

I don't agree with "none of it able to deliver sleek experience out of the box". GB was pretty decent out of the box and ICS has further refined the developments in GB. Lots of friends, family/workmates have imported/telecom/vodafone handsets with stock GB/ics and find it fine.

I haven't been HTC since my Touch Pro2. Before that i was pretty hard out on Windows Mobile like the old HTC Titan, Apache.. .. back in the days when some clever guy from Massey Uni was able to port early Android onto the good ol Okta Touch! I used to run a dual boot WM/Android when it was version umm.. .8 or .9 some years back.. Came back to Android via the Galaxy S Captivate.. and now the S2.. Still have a Nokia 5800 too..

HTC One X looks the goods.. Quad Core and Tegra 3? Nice!

I live in the Auckland area, and work in the city, so no problem for me to be somewhere grand.

I use an iPhone for work currently, my wife has one too. My only experience with using an Android phone was with a really awful vodafone small screen resistive touch unit I used when my iphone was off for repair.

freitasm: Ok, I will give some more information and then we can focus a bit more.

In a few weeks time a new beautiful Android smartphone will show up on the line up of some of our local mobile operators.

As we've done before with some high profile devices, we are working with Telecom to give five Geekzoners the opportunity to have this new ICS handset on their hot hands - in exchange for their reviews. As we've done with HTC Sensation and Nokia Lumia, the reviews will be post on TelecomTech, our Telecom-sponsored blog about new mobile devices.

We will be looking for five people and this time we have plans for something else than just sending these via post - we need all five to be in or around Auckland, for an opportunity that will be "grand".

Post your reasons to be selected, offer your bribes here and in a few days I will come up with five names after scrubbing our database, looking at your community contributions, knowledge, etc, etc...

argh, i miss this post!

super duper interested. i should be able to drive up to Auckland. one thing i am looking forward is to try out XT network (they have better coverage at my workplace). i have been with android since HTC magic appeared at the vodafone store.

Very interested! I'm a huge fan of tech! Especially mobile devices, and would love a chance to review the latest and greatest.

Even though I've been a self proclaimed Apple fan-boy and iPhone user since the 3G dropped in NZ, I ditched my iPhone 4 late last year and replaced it with a Galaxy Note. I've had the Note for 4 months now, and I can safely say, it's the greatest piece of tech I've had the privilege of owning! (IMHO)

The transition from iOS to Android took a little getting used to, but now I can't see myself returning to an iPhone, EVER.The 'openness' I thought I had with my jailbroken iPhone 4, with customized UI and various mods and tweaks, seem a bit amusing now after experiencing the openness of Android.

I've been using various custom ICS roms (with Nova Launcher) on my Note for the past couple of months now, and find it's a HUGE improvement over Gingerbread (and Touchwiz). And would love the chance to see how ICS feels with Sense (assuming it's the One X).

I wonder if they'd let reviewers root it and try out some other roms? :)

The wife has given me the all clear to fly up to Auckland! :)

The boss/work should be easier to let me have a day off, unless it's easter week, in which case I have almost all week off

Ok, seeing as there are huge stories on why people should get to this thing..Here's mine

My wife is giving birth to our second child in just 7 weeks and as soon as that happens I won't be going out for months. I'll probably go mad with all the baby this and baby that talk, poohy nappies, the mother in law and never really being manly again as I become the second mother of the house (you guys with two or more kids know what I'm talking about).

I'll while away my time remembering the days when I was a Geek who loved phones and tablets and gaming and dreamed of being at an event so stupendous that I held its memory like an Icon of days gone by, something I'd grasp hold of as the days grew dim, as I saw others playing with their New HTC One X's, when mine went on Trademe to buy more nappies.

I deserve this event like a dry man deserves a drink.
