the main problem is losing that huge built in support for the SPen and its handwriting detection/functionality thats all thru touchwiz.
or did you purely buy the phone for its hardware spec and couldnt care less about the stylus?
I haven't used the Note long enough yet to get attached to the Samsung SPen functions. I didn't realise it was so reliant on Touchwiz... that's a shame. I might hold off for a few weeks and see if I get hooked on SPen before I go custom.
Well, it is and it isn't. All the fancy s-pen stuff like pen window or handwriting recognition, for example, requires touchwiz and the Samsung ROM.
However, use of the s-pen doesn't. Under CM at present the s-pen works perfectly well as a stylus, including pressure sensitivity etc - if you're just drawing pictures and scribbling notes it functions the same. There are apps that enable detection of removal/insertion of the pen, as well as auto launching an app like papyrus when the pen is removed.
So you wouldn't completely lose the s-pen, but you certainly would lose the more advanced use cases.
