samohtxotom: Can anyone post their build number and software number for the stock NZ HTC M8? Trying to convert back to stock for Dev edition so I can get Semble running but can't find a ROM/Nandroid backup for it :( Thanks in advance!

I assume your are S-off?.. you will need to change your CID to HTC__039

Would be interested to hear how you get on.. please PM with the results if it works or not?

Success! Pretty much done what this guide says and all worked smoothly http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/tutorial-how-to-stock-stock-twrp-t3086860/post60218734#post60218734 :D Thanks heaps for that, it was an issue I was stuck on for months!

Hi, could you give me you correct MID (modelid) value? You can get it with a fastboot getvar all from the fastboot boot menu (via the command line fastboot app on the pc...)

I think mine was originally 11000, but wish to be sure.

Thanks.

Yes the MID is 1100
But you should still get the OTA notification even if you dont have the correct MID, it will download but then abort the installation stating that your device has been modified.

Using the above FW I have received and installed the 5.01 update, but it has broken my Semble :(

Thanks for the help!

But could you give me the complete line for that mid? You have 1100, I think it was 11000? Starts with P or something unless I'm wrong? Sorry to be a pain... Just dont want to brick my phone lol.

Has anyone got a SD card reader to work with the HTC M8? Normal USB Drives work fine through an OTG cable, but it cant read a SD card through a reader pluged into the cable or through an OTG reader. Works fine on other phones though, S3,S4 and S5.

So, I just received an email from "news@email-htc.com" announcing the HTC One M8 is now available, and inviting me to "Be the First".  Especially interesting that the email says it comes with "Android Lillipop and HTC Sense 6 software".  By my calculations, the M8 was released in March 2014, whereas Lollipop was announced in June 2014 and not available in general release until November 2014.  Also, Sense 6 was based on KitKat whereas I'd expect Sense 7 on a Lollipop phone.  I'm not sure whether I'm getting an old phone with current software, or an old email for a current phone whose software was ahead of its time.

Either way, I'm not clicking on the "I WANT ONE" button.

Ah yes, just noticed that.

So, slightly fatter, better camera, better battery, processor is probably not as high level as the M8 but is 32 bit octacore, and cheaper. I suppose for people like me still on the M7 it might be tempting.

Woke up to the Marshmallow update today, wasn't even expecting it.   Seems to running smoothly, maybe slightly smoother than before.

It was Spark last week. Nothing I don't like about Android 6 yet, but then haven't really played with it much.
