jakenz:Yeah, i'm afraid you're out of luck for Snapper if you don't have a sim already. However, if anyone else is reading this and worried about losing their snapper-ness with a factory reset/phone swap, fear not. I had to do both recently, several times, and my S7 edge still works with the snapper terminals as it did before.
PS: I would've also asked about using such a phone for Snapper touch-2-pay (via NFC) on Wellington buses - as I currently do with my Galaxy S5. But 2degrees clarified to me this week that present they're not adding Snapper touch2pay support to any new phones nor are they still issuing the necessary touch2pay capable 2D sim cards. Both snapper's and 2D's websites seemed to have scrubbed any reference to touch2pay snapper support.
When Snapper/Semble parted ways they weren't too clear on what would happen (maybe they didn't know either), but it definitely transfers fine, if the new phone has NFC too.
