Foo:robfish: My update (from Telecom) went smoothly last night and the S3 seemed fine until about 4:30 pm when it made a couple of little noises then all I get is the Galaxy logo and model on a black screen and it will not boot up.
I cannot even get into recovery mode (Vol Up + Home + Power buttons)
Later when I put the SIM into an S2 I got a text "From Telecom: You should now be receiving a text(s) that will change your phone's settings. Save these settings using PIN: 1234 if needed."
Could the text be related to my now bricked phone?
After waking this morning, my phone's light was on letting me know I have emails but the phone wouldn't switch on. Removed battery etc but it appears it is also bricked. It's a Telecom phone with a 2degrees simcard. Jellybean update applied on Monday night. Any suggestions?

I don't no if this is of any use to you but my recent experience stressing about bricked hardware......
I've had trouble before with Samsung stuff when it's left on charge for long periods and the power manangement goes into shutdown, was it plugged in all night by any chance? My tablet was a brick for a week, I was about to start using it as a chopping board, when it came right......might be worth charging up the battery and pulling it out and leaving it out for a while.
Foo:
Thanks for the advice, I'll give that a go. Yes, it was left on charge all night.
Will pull the battery and leave out for the day before giving it a go. If no luck, next stop will be Noel Leeming.

I'm not a complete idiot, I still have some parts missing.

lokhor: Do any of you guys running Telecom firmware have root and know how to copy/send your build.prop file?
