Ok, since I wasn't getting the OTA update due to having a rooted phone, I downloaded the 2 Degrees ROM from SamMobile and flashed it yesterday. Everything working sweet and loving the new JB touches. Smile

robfish: My update (from Telecom) went smoothly last night and the S3 seemed fine until about 4:30 pm when it made a couple of little noises then all I get is the Galaxy logo and model on a black screen and it will not boot up.

I cannot even get into recovery mode (Vol Up + Home + Power buttons)

Later when I put the SIM into an S2 I got a text "From Telecom: You should now be receiving a text(s) that will change your phone's settings. Save these settings using PIN: 1234 if needed."

Could the text be related to my now bricked phone?

After waking this morning, my phone's light was on letting me know I have emails but the phone wouldn't switch on. Removed battery etc but it appears it is also bricked. It's a Telecom phone with a 2degrees simcard. Jellybean update applied on Monday night. Any suggestions?

I don't no if this is of any use to you but my recent experience stressing about bricked hardware......
I've had trouble before with Samsung stuff when it's left on charge for long periods and the power manangement goes into shutdown, was it plugged in all night by any chance? My tablet was a brick for a week, I was about to start using it as a chopping board, when it came right......might be worth charging up the battery and pulling it out and leaving it out for a while.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Thanks for that. Just checking that I'm running the correct Baseband.

Thanks for the advice, I'll give that a go. Yes, it was left on charge all night.

Will pull the battery and leave out for the day before giving it a go. If no luck, next stop will be Noel Leeming.

By the looks of the baseband version for telecom it might be a dud - I9300T DUDLJ2 Tongue Out

I'm not a complete idiot, I still have some parts missing.

Do any of you guys running Telecom firmware have root and know how to copy/send your build.prop file?

Hmm my speedtests are showing pretty dismal speeds. I have modified my build.prop to match the one provided and I'm using the Telecom modem I9300TDUDLJ2

Ping 117ms
Download 2310kbps
Upload 889kbps

My upload speed never goes much above 900kbps

Also I'm currently at work in Wellington CBD and have a signal strength of -81dBm 16 asu

Kernel Panic. Some app probably modified your system, sometimes it seems to happened on Samsung phones (Non-rooted as well).

Try install CMRecovery and wipe Data then it will fixed your problem. But back it up before wipe is highly recommended :)

CMW will allow you to NAND backup of your files and cache.

The corruption seems to be residing inside Data/Data. Wiping DelvinCache and Cache won't fix your problem. You have to wipe Data.

Source? From my own experience and I have seen this more than 5 times on my phones and friend's phones.

I would like to try this (before I send my phone to Auckland and wait 2 weeks to get it back)
but I am told (by Telegistics) that it would void my warranty so I will just have to be patient.
