Umm, download the beta firmware, it will have 4 files:

AP_xxxZPK4
BL_xxxZPK4
CP_xxxZPK1
CSC_OXA_xxxZPK4

Then download your existing firmware, which will have 5 files (AP, BL, CP, CSC and Home_CSC). Use Home_CSC from your 2nd download rather than CSC from the beta folder.

So use the following with Odin3:

AP_xxxZPK4
BL_xxxZPK4
CP_xxxZPK1
Home_CSC_your_existing_fw

Important: Before you do this, turn secure boot on with a pin/pattern (otherwise you'll be asked for one after you flash). This can be disabled after the first boot.

Has anyone found a decent screen protector for the edge? I have tried a plastic custom curved one and glass curved and they are both rubbish (the plastic one peeled up on the edges and the glass one seems to not make decent contact with the screen). I am thinking of giving up and going naked (one the phone only!)

Sorry if this has been discussed already. 32 pages it a lot to wade through for a screen protector.

Pretty sure this is the one I have. It's still there and still going strong many months after putting it on. Currently using this case with it.

I HAD a good one. Lady in Palmy mall is great at putting then on. But then my phone had that pink line prob and had to go in to get 'repaired' and of course it comes back naked.

Then when i went to get one put on the repaired phone she said that too many problems occured and she dosnt do it anymore. Same as the other 3 stores I went to.

Im now using a flip cover to protect it when out and about and when at home it comes away from the case (magnetic), but is still in a small bumper and back cover. Works great and i can still use wireless charging.

Bit pricey at $45, from the store by the nail place in Palmy mall - forget the name,. Ii had the glass cover on for less than 4 hours and it shattered from the edge. They were going to replace it but I said no point.

I asked back here in this thread. Ended up not buying an Edge in the end, so didn't end up experiencing this problem!

I don't use a screen protector from day one.( iam a dairy farmer, I've always got grit on my hands) Brought in March this year . No scratches or faint marks "touchwood".I looked for screen protectors back then , there was nothing suitable with glass feel .
I have got a slim gel case ,I find it too slippery otherwise.... Samsung if you reading don't make them so slippery that they just slide out of the hand with out asking

Just thought I'd add my 2c to this:

I got an Otterbox Defender for my S7 Edge, and wondered if I would have to return it, since the Defenders for the Note 7s (Odin rest their souls) were famously cr@p: ill-fitting and useless.

Was relieved that the Defender I got (from Amazon US, saw some obvious counterfeit ones for sale here, skipped that) fit perfectly. Has been going well since.

It's not for everyone: the screen protector is plastic -- fits fine and does not interfere with touch on the screen, but plastic. Also, the total package is much thicker than the phone. That said, a waterproof phone in a (reasonably) drop-proof case means I don't have to worry about it. FWIW.

Sooooooo.. anyone had to replace the screen yet and know if its viable and what the costs are? Just had my 1.5 year old drag it off the bench top while it was charging.. Swung into the chair right on the corner of the screen, just above the case it was in (which popped the screen cover off and cracked it previously, see above). So either an insurance jobbie, a repair if possible, or flag it and get a new (different) one at rather a big financial "oh crap".

Just had mine done.... $489 done by Samsung. Went to one of the repair shops too (Willis street, wellington) and even they said they can't do it much cheaper.

Im tempted to go back to store i got it from and see what happens... this being the third time its had to be repaired (other times its the phones fault, this.. probably more design since it didnt hit the floor and a little 'user error')

My Galaxy S7 Edge has started to do some weird behaviour. Yesterday we were going through a mall and for some reason it randomly started to play a video on full volume. It would not stop and the App closure showed no recent Apps open I had to power off to stop it. The day before it spontaneously started to play Spotify and again I had to close to stop it.

The phone has also had periods of getting very warm with no Apps open and significant battery drain, that is going fro 100% to circa 50% in less than an hour. I don't have the Oculus App that had caused issue late last year installed. I have also ran Malwarebytes Scans and these have showed all clear.

Last night my phone was left on the charger but this morning the batter was completely discharged. The battery App typically shows that no one App is using high levels of battery and the usage is spread over such things as Android System, OS, messenger etc. The display does not show high usage either and I have that set at auto.

Wellingtons summer cannot be blamed fro the heating as we have struggled to get over twenty degrees so far for this non summer.

I am going to do another factory reset but before I go through all that does this look like a potential hardware issue?

I had similar battery issues about 3 months ago with my non-edge S7. eg. phone would discharge 60% overnight with no apps open. After a complete factory reset (ie erase all user data) it came right and has been fine since. Good luck.

Yea I just took it to 2degrees. The annoying thing being the glass wasn't even cracked but the screen had just gone all stupid. They opened it up and found internal damage or something. But yea, not terrible considering full replacement cost.

Apologies if already raised, couldn't find anything in search...

I bought my S7 after xmas and yesterday it has started with a weird behaviour where audio will cut out randomly from the internal speaker, in any app (YouTube, Facebook, Gallery etc). Looks to be software glitch as skipping tracks or pausing/unpausing will give a second or so of audio.

Anyone in NZ experienced this? Or know of any contacts in NZ for Samsung? Don't want to go through the hassle of sending away...
