Does flashing the German or Polish ROM update the CSC so 2Degrees models can work on Telecom?

Just an update: Got my Note 3 from Telecom. Bundle offer with Galaxy Gear. Any suggestions on power saving other than the usual stuff, particular to Note 3??

Im lately being into walking in a bit way. 10-20 kms a day sometimes-training for some events.
Now with the new Note 3 and Gear I have the app installed on gear- Map my walk which works a treat on the Gear. Even works with the Note in the pocket so In some ways dont need a Arm pouch but Ive ordered one on Ebay for about NZ$ 4.80 Free delivery (China). Rediculous price when you think of it.

Today I got a Wireless Pad and Wireless S Cover which works a treat too
I got the bright Orange Gear!! BTW

Looking at buying a note 3 - I see pbtech have them but it says the 4G works only on vodafone and 2 degrees.

I thought that the LTE used by all NZ telcos was 1800 - why wouldnt it work on telecom?

It's all detailed somewhere in the middle of this forum.

Short story, the CSC file that has the features the carrier supports has 4G disabled in the 2Degrees model due to Telecom requesting this during testing.
As it is not hindering any issues on the 2Degrees network it is lowest piroity to have this updated to the lastest settings and will probably just be sliped in with a future update.
This is not unique I have a device from overseas that has the same issue where they have probably never heard of telecom and why would they be i a hurry to fix something for a carrier in another country.

Even on an overseas parallel imported handset? I should have mentioned that it says its parallel imported.
I would have thought that should have been unaware of Telecom NZ specifically...

EDIT: Think I have found the posts you refer to - Having a look now...

My note 10.1 is from Singapore or Hong Kong and it has the same problem, fromWhat I'm aware it's an international thing when you say you want these settings for your network.

Aw crap!
I had talked myself into getting a note 3 and was actually intending buying one today.
Wanted one that would work on any carrier (was contemplating skinny) and would work on 4G if that was an option on the carrier (I know skinny havent enabled that yet) but I would like it when it does get enabled.

The drama about the CSC settings and various firmware for various telcos (add in the parallel imported models) has really put me off now. No way am I brave enough to risk bricking a nearly $1k device to try and get it to work as it should.

I was looking at one from parallel imported - I suppose the firmware could be from anywhere in the world and I guess I would be at the mercy of whoever maintains that firmware as to what releases get issued?
The CSC releases for this part of the world would have to be released via that firmware provider to enable 4G as well- is that how it works?
Sad face now :-(
