ritzlal: Has anybody's phone cleared customs yet? What's the process? Do they send a letter? Can it be done online to speed things up? Mine's just arrived but I'm wondering how long I'll be waiting before it's in my grubby paws. :)

Am in the same boat as you- just landed in NZ today. I'm waiting on my tracking to change to waiting for clearance and then I'll give them a call.

Mine's been in a status of "Held For Clearance" since Monday.  I rung customs again this afternoon and they said they're behind, they said it could take up to 5 business days to calculate GST and duty :-(

Customs is one old fashioned government divisioned.

ANCIENT.

This method of sending letters is the same method used 10 years ago.

No online payment (internet banking not included) system.

Slow slow slow.

Will stock be limited or does one have a good chance of walking into the store Friday morning and getting one?

Can you confirm USB OTG support?  This was broken in the Nexus 4.

Still waiting for mine to get to NZ, should be here in the next couple of days though!

As for customs: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=48&topicid=112371
From what I gather they'll send you a letter but it could be faster if you spend a bit of time on the phone

Thanks for that. Very useful. Sounds like it'll be a bit of a wait (another week is far too long for me) :p

They basically had no clue, but said if it looked damaged/tampered with it would have been noted

Wooh! Nice :-)
Since you've already been through the process, could you explain what the 'Shipped' means? I was thinking it meant it's left the YouShop warehouse so I was expecting it to have arrived (on a jetplane) by now, but after reading I think there's more to it than that...:
Once your parcel is dispatched from one of our warehouses it will take on average 4-6 days to arrive in New Zealand from the USA

Did you track to see that it had landed and then call Customs to pay over the phone? Or wait for a letter?

"Shipped" means on it's way to NZ.
The next update is "Arrived in NZ"
Then "Held for clearance"

It'll be covered by a 2 year manufacturers warranty from LG. If anything goes wrong we'll get it sent off.  Only if it's assessed as 'user damaged' will you need to pay for repairs.

Cheers
