Presso: You may have already been on 5.1.1 and the update today is just a minor one by the looks of it. Mine was already on 5.1.1 and I am downloading the update now which is around 230mb.
pjbnz:
Right, so after taking my phone in to 2degrees they adjusted some settings but it still drops calls all the time (2 a day) and sometimes after dropping a call I cant even use the phone for a couple of mins as there is no network signal, this happens anywhere and everywhere.
Ill be getting it sent to samsung for diagnosis, which if they don't find a fault I may well rejet the phone under the consumer guarantees act, as a phone that doesnt phone is useless to me.
This is really disappointing because apart from the signal issue its a great phone.
Any other advice before I take the hard road out?
Thanks
Are you sure that happnes anywhere and everywhere? It looks like a hardware issue. I think you should visit 2degree outlet with your s6, show the issues and get advise from them.
I had similar issues before, but only inside of my house. In the end I had to install a mobile signal repeater/booster in my house. Without the repeater, my S6 get 1 or 2 bar less signal than my wife's Note 3. Something wrong with my s6? (Or with my house?) I am not sure, but I am now happy with my s6.

Yeah, happens randomly, on Queen Street in town once, driving through Mt Wellington, at my home a lot.
Sometimes once it drops a call I cant call back for a few mins.
Im just waiting for a loan phone to become available at 2Degrees then its going in to Samsung, but if they cant replicate the fault as its intermittent where does that leave me?
I don't want any other smartphone out either, the S6 is awesome, but failing to be a phone is pretty critical when its running my business.
Do the S6 edge or note have the same issues around signals?
Also, just as a note, did you install a $1000 piece of equipment in your home to get your $1000 phone to work where all other phones work fine?
Does that not seem like madness?
When I suspected this might be weak signal reception issue, I ordered one from Ebay which cost me less than $100. I received it, but hold installing until Samsung's response. When my s6 was returned from Samsung NZ, I asked a TV antenna guy to install it. Total cost was about $150.00. I was never going to install that $1,000 equipment.
If you interested in buying one from Ebay, research a bit like the mobile frequencies of your main area and mobile towers in your area. Mine is 850mhz, so ordered this:

nofam: Hi guys,
Can you confirm something for me - there's no reason you can't take a Spark-purchased 920i and flash Vodafone or 2Degrees firmware via Odin (or any other permutation of this scenario) right? All providers are using the same handset variant with carrier-specific firmware, and flashing factory ROMs via Odin doesn't trip Knox from memory either?
