I'll never forgot when I tricked my 15 year old nephew into believing I could open the boot of my new car by talking into my fitbit, all the time with my hand in my pocket pressing the boot open button on my remote ;)

Well running the xsa firmware now and it seems to be better. battery life is not as good however. I expect this is due to the different modem in the firmware.
You could just flash back the Spark modem. It is the CP part of the firmware.
When I first booted my S8 and saw the Spark boot logo I immediately turned it off and flashed XSA, been getting 6 hours screen time per charge. Seem really good to me.
Ah thanks, so just CP file via Odin and no CSC file?

Yeah that's right.

OOI, why do we not have the LTE version of the Gear? I assume a network issue but wondered why.
Exactly why, plus demand. They will probably sell < 500 G3's in total across NZ. If you bought in 2 SKU's, esp with all the extra testing and cost and marketing, definitely not worth it.
I'm curious, though: what is different about our networks compared to the ones where it works?

Different frequencies, different carrier variants and protocols. Might even work here, but won't run at optimal speeds.
I am selling my Samsung 256GB Evo Plus Micro SD card that came bundled with my unit. It's unopened and brand new $240 + Postage.
Accidentally brought a rhinoshield bumper for the s8 instead of s8+ Anyone want to take it off my hands for half price.

Just on the cases topic...
I'm not a fan of cases but since it's the honeymoon period, I am currently using a case. However, I do prefer something thin and subtle that protects scratches rather than having drop protection. I am waiting for a dbrand skin to arrive (will use it without a case once it arrives) but in the meantime, I have received and used these and they seem to be quite good. Just a couple of cheap cases under $5NZD.
really great value here. Thin but reasonable grip and looks great too. Protects all over the phone and actually makes the fingerprint reader much much easier to locate due to the gap.
Provides good grip and protection More solid protection than the other one anyway. Similar to some Spigen cases and good quality too. No issues pressing buttons etc. Also makes fingerprint reader way easier to use.
How is everyone finding their S8 and S8+? Any of that 'Samsung lag'? I've got a Note 4 and find it's always lagged terribly when moving to and from camera.
Battery life seems pretty good, I'm thinking about the S8+ but will wait for prices to drop a bit.
Off topic, but any decent guides to rooting the Note 4? Keen to see a more recent OS.

So after the last firmware update my back camera has been stuffing up, won't focus at all even after reboot etc :(
I had the same issue. I bought it directly from Samsung and they replaced the phone for me as it within the 14 day period.

Was it a general bug fix update or was it the monthly security update? I'm tracking Sammobile but unfortunately they don't give much details as to the nature of the update and what does.

Well I never had the issue until the last OTA on spark, then the camera would not focus 8/10 times i used it. Would power cycle the device etc.
Took it into spark and as soon as I went to show them it would not do it again they wanted to send it away (was only 8 or 9 days old at that point). I asked what they would do and the guy said they would just re-flash the firmware. Well I can do that with odin but this time I used the xsa firmware from AU. No issue with the camera anymore. So something in the last OTA stuffed it.
Happy now as it has not happen again so don't think it was hardware related.
