It's making it's way over to us slowly but surely.  I heard Optus in Australia got it a few days ago.  Prior to that I'd been seeing it come our way via Europe and Canada.

I'm not that fussed.  Good Lock won't be updated until 2nd week of February anyway so most of my customisations will break if I update prematurely.

I've been using android 10 on my note 10 plus since early December and still quite buggy, spen sometimes problems smart lock not work all the time, gestures not perfect yet and sometimes Bluetooth problems. I was very reluctant to try gestures at first but after using about 1 month absolutely love using them now. Also waiting for good lock to update which previously was using a lot so hoping that this is working when released in few weeks. Yes NZ very slow as every where else round the planet (even all Aussie networks few weeks) seems to have updated to android 10 that's why i went and updated as couldn't wait and happy i did, even note 9 most places seem to be on android 10 already.

I need to replace my phone in the next few months. The Note is a pretty reasonable price now. The one big concern is the fingerprint reader.

My work email client uses fingerprint recognition and if it's not reliable it's a total pain as it enforces a 10 digit PIN. How is the real world performance of a finger print reader with a third party screen protector?

If anyone has used a Note 10 and a P30 Pro how would you compare battery life and the fingerprint reader.

P30 Pro vs Note 10+

Finger print: Hands down P30. My Note10+ finger print scanner is slow and inaccurate.
Battery life: P30 Pro. Note 10+ gets through the day fine but P30 Pro is better.
Screen: Note 10+. I love the Note 10+ screen.
Camera: P30 Pro.

I'm gutted the Mate 30 Pro has been hamstrung by the US. That would have been my Go to...

I really like the Note 10+ but have to admit the P30 Pro beats it in a lot of areas.

Cheers, Matt.

Thanks 😀

Mrs Handle has a P30 Pro and loves it. I would wait for a Mate 30 Pro but as you say, Trump...

I will see how the new battery in my OnePlus 6 goes over the next couple of weeks then talk myself into buying a new phone 😆

I've never been a big Samsung fan but may have to go that way if the S20 is any good.

No issues with fingerprint on my Note 10+. Many of my apps are locked down and require a print to open. I wouldn't do that if it didn't perform well. Not saying @hairy1 is wrong, just presenting an alternative experience. Mine is great.

Ok thanks. I've not heard good things about the ultrasonic finger print readers so it's useful to get some feedback.

The Huawei optical reader is brilliant so it's an important distinction.

I don't think much of the fingerprint reader on the Note10+. It's ok when it works, but too often you don't line up and it wants you to redo it.

It's a frustration, but I'd buy another.

Not sure the s20 series will be much of an upgrade over the Note series excluding the all-important pen.

I'm guessing they'll "fix" the fingerprint reader but who knows.

The note is pretty reasonably priced now, I can get it for around NZD$1000 and the Note+ for around $1150 (both from Amazon so not from a dodgy parallel importer). I can get the P30 pro 128GB for around NZD$800 so they are in a nice value : performance  spot.

Coming from the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and P30 Pro I can say that the fingerprint is nowhere near as reliable as the Huawei devices.

Just got notification to update good lock and all done works great, just NavStar not updated possibly due to  gestures interfere with navigation bar.
