It would be interesting to hear your thoughts on why you are switching back - where has the android/S7 fallen short for you?

Just had a quick look on trade me, I reckon close to $500 would be easily obtainable if put to auction (assuming near new condition).

The Galaxy S7 Edge has been a very good handset probably the best Android unit ( I hope my wife does not read this) I have owned/used. I was for a very long time a Mac user I have returned to using an iMac as my main PC. I also have an iPad and Apple TV and considering a MacBook. The iPhone just simple works better with those devices.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Has anyone heard anything new about the Nougat rollout by NZ telcos? I'm particularly interested in Spark, but have any of them released it?

A friend of mine has a cheap generic handset - which he says is on Voda - and was showing me the Nougat update on it this week. There was a cynical post on this forum months ago that Samsung would hold back the Nougat update to force people to buy the S8,but that didn't happen: Samsung released the update. Why hasnt Spark done their official ota release?

Has anyone got it?

I'm on a 2D Edge device and currently downloading 1300mb worth of updates. Didn't say what it was, as it normally does. Could this be IT????

Well it doesn't look like a security patch at that size :)

Says Nougat 7.0. Grrrr. Pretty sure 7.0 has bugs and current S7 version is 7.1?

All country's are getting 7.0... not sure what happened to 7.1... maybe 7.1 was the buggy version?

Yep, can confirm both S7 non-Edge and Edge versions on 2D have Android 7.0 updates.

Well that contradicts everything I've read in the past couple or three weeks. Will have a look again later.

I think there was speculation about Samsung releasing 7.1 straight away. But, as suspected, it was a myth.  The beta was 7.0 and the release was also 7.0.

There were a few bugs with the first release, which stopped the global release (particularly with the SnapDragon variants).  The major ones have been fixed, which is why the release has started again.

I've been using Nougat 7 since the Beta in Nov. Since the final version was released I can't say I've had any real issues and they published an OTA very quickly which fixed up a couple of minor things.

There was no way the S7 was going to get the 7.1 update as the CTS had not been published by Google by the time the 7.0 update was released.

Overall the experience with Android 7 on the S7 is miles ahead of what it was with 6. The UI changes are long overdue, it just feels all round less bloated and more pleasant to look at.
