Had a play on the phone again and all i had to do to convince me to own one was hold it and look at the screen.

My contract renews soon with VF in September, Will see if i can get an early renew. Anyone got any tips?

I have been with spark for over 20 years and never once had a single problem. I have all our phones and fiber through them. I guess its just your preference of who to use.

I go spark these days as they have lots of extras on their plans (spotify is a big one for me).  I don't really travel that much overseas so the high cost of roaming with them is not an issue.

If you travel overseas a lot then vodafone might be a better idea

I've got the s8+ and am loving it so far. I think most of the things that make it great are purely android 7 features, but its a very nice phone. I've seen some of the recent drop test results though and it's not good, full on spiderwebbing on front and back from a minimal drop :S. I've got a decent case and a silicone one but I'm thinking I might switch back to the decent one.

I think mine was due to expire around the same time.. so I rang and asked for the VF Retention team. They gave me two options:

1: Waive the $170 early disconnection fee and they give me $800 credit off the phone (S8 - $1299 price)
2: They bill me the $170 disconnection fee and they give me $1100 credit off the phone

I went with option 2.. obviously.. I couldn't wait until the 3 month period cool

Kind of S8 related ... I've purchased one of the S8-bundled Samsung 256GB micro SD cards from Trade Me and I want to swap out the 64GB card currently in my Galaxy S7.

My 64GB SD card currently has Google Play music, Youtube offline video and Pocketcast podcasts on it. If I take the existing card and copy everything across to the new card, will it work when placed in the phone, or will digital copy protection cut in on the new card (even though it has the same data and is going into the same phone)?

I ordered a cheap cover on eBay when I first started thinking about getting the S8. I am using it while I figure what is going to be the ultimate protection for the phone. What I have discovered is that if the cover isn't designed carefully enough then there isn't enough 'swipe space' from the edge of the screen. It is a fine line between having a profile high enough to protect the screen but still allow you to get your fingers to the very edge on all four sides. The most frustrating is the top side to pull down the notifications and quick settings. Initially I used the compact mode by triple clicking the home button, but since I quickly replaced TouchWiz (improved though it is) with Apex Launcher I now just double tap the screen to pull down the notification shutter.
Has anyone shelled out for the OEM Samsung LED cover? Despite my phone retailing for $1300 I baulk at spending 100 bucks on a cover. I like the concept and the integration with the phone, but the covers themselves look uninspiring and seem to add quite a bit of bulk the phone, making it less pocketable.

Yeah fair enough. I wont be paying any DC fee haha or extra to get the phone.
Their website states they will cover the phone entirely for any new contract so will see if i can get that.
Otherwise threaten the ol spark churn and see what happens.
