Just an update, finally received my P30 (non-Pro) BC 2degrees preorder from PBtech. Got the message on Thursday, picked it up on Friday. Also got the preorder bonuses (Logitech Boom 3 and Xiaomi 20000 mAh powerbank) except for the watch have to redeem online.

They also called me last Friday. Phone was off and didn't leave a message so called them back (it was the generic number) hoping my phone was ready. Explained situation to person who answered & looked my phone number up in their system and put me through to sales agent for my order. Told her same thing, had received a call and though it was probably about my pre-order. She didn't really give an indication it was her who called me and just asked if I'd received my phone. Was surprised when I said no and she'd look into it. Called me back 10-20 minutes later and said it because I was the last one in their store I didn't get mine but there were 60 on order arriving soon and she'd put aside the bonuses. Don't think she gave a date & didn't ask because I suspected what their website was telling me would be the same. I'm still slightly confused what the first call was about. Was it the person that served me who assumed I'd received my phone but was just checking since was marked as not picked up. Or someone else was dealing with it calling to apologise or update me.

Wonder if one of the reasons for the phones showing in stock in the early days while I was waiting is because those were Spark phones. I noticed Harvey Norman does have Spark and 2D P30 listed seperately. None of the other retailers do but my phone had a 2degrees sticker so I assume it's technically 2degrees stock. I've never been sure how they handle these carrier differences for the same phone.

Anyone having a problem where you can't customise the home screen? Long touch is not bringing up the options to change settings or add widgets...

Any other NZ providers upgraded firmware to .154 yet? I know Vodafone have but I'm on 2degrees and nothing yet.

My mistake, I thought you had an earlier post showing the upgrade? Had a pic of the measurement app etc.

Just had another look, I see your update was .140. 2degrees are still stuck on .124.

Actually mine is not a NZ model - they gave the dual SIM to press before release.

.124 is the latest for the single SIM version released by 2degrees (VOG-L09).
Unsure whether that's the same as the other providers.

You can check the latest firmware for VOG-L09 here: https://support.halabtech.com/index.php?a=downloads&b=folder&id=45220

VOG-L09 appears to be a number of steps behind the VOG-L29 (dual SIM) for updates.

Hi Awojtas,

Really interesting link I see the following firmware releases, it does seem odd that one model is just taking off, freitasm could you chat with your contacts at Huawei to understand the reason why.

  • L09 (Single SIM) - latest is 0.124
  • L29 (Dual SIM) - .0124 then 0.140 then 0.153 and now shows 0.156D
