Oreo is out. Easiest method to get it now for most people will be to flash BTU or Ireland firmware via ODIN. Get the firmware from Sammobile.com or Updato.com

My phone is rooted and ROMmed so I simply dirty flashed the Oreo Alexndr Devbase Zip via TWRP over the ROM I had. (A ported Note8 ROM 7.1.1 - Ironman). It allowed me to keep my Spark CSC intact

Yeah, seems noticeably smoother to me - I haven't rooted mine and have ODIN flashed the BTU version. Nice to see Samsung finally bring 'samsung experience' to the S7.

If cell standby is well up in your battery stats after installing Oreo...

https://www.androidpolice.com/2017/12/09/fyi-mobile-data-now-set-always-active-default-oreo/

Basically dive in to developer settings and switch 'mobile data always active' off.

Seems to drop the cell standby down the list. Battery life has been impressive on Oreo so far, over 4hrs screen time on several days.

It seems that the NZ rollout to NZC TNZ and VNZ may be later this month. I'll be keen to get the NZC CSC installed to experiment with dual sim and 2° WiFi calling

Looks like the Oreo rollout is back on after a couple of weeks of non activity...

Hopefully the NZ ones come soon.

This could be my last Samsung. No major update in over two years on a premium flagship device.

Stu: This could be my last Samsung. No major update in over two years on a premium flagship device.

It got the Nougat update with the complete UI overhaul just over a year ago and the Oreo update is already rolling out across the globe. While it is a little behind for a major Android update, it's not too bad for a 2 year old Samsung device.

Last years LG flagship the G6 is only just getting Oreo at the moment.

Also the S9 has had 5 updates in a little over 2 months. Feels like things might have improved slightly with their newer devices.

Apologies, yes, I forgot 7.0 came out at the beginning of last year. It's been so long.

Also, for the price paid, I don't think 2 years is anything fantastic. For that price, 3 years full support, at least!

I've just downloaded the 2degrees (NZC) Oreo firmware from Sammobile. Anyone know of any potential issues installing this on my S7 with the aim of using it on the Vodafone network? Mine was originally a Spark-provided S7 but I flashed the Vodafone firmware when I switched from Spark to VF.

Why not just download the VodafoneNZ Oreo update and install it?

The VodafoneNZ Oreo firmware isn't up on Sammobile yet, and I'm not sure where else I could go to download it. Any ideas?

Hi guys - a bit of a newby question.  I have an imported S7 that is region unlocked, but not jail broken.  Will I receive the oreo update through the normal software update screen?  Nothing showing as of yet.
