Well just updated to Android 10 overnight, mine is a Spark Note 10+

So far I'm gutted. Major lag throughout the OS. Navigation between apps and task switching is jittery.

Just scrolling page of apps is frame dropping.

After researching, it looks like it's a major issue with this particular update.

Samsung will need to fix this.

networkn:

Thanks. I think I need to tweak it, I am having some issues. I like being able to switch back and forwards between my last 2 apps, but right now it seems to force close them?

Swipe between last 2 apps in this video @ 1.40 mins shows how to do and if you have task changer on only last 2 apps switch but if no task changer scrolls through all apps couldn't see any setting in good lock task changer for this so presume this just works like this unless setting somewhere else. This video best i could find a bit old but explains gestures ok perhaps changes, hide keyboard setting seems different.Hope this helps.

Seems to be working really well on mine, but i'm using Nova Launcher which might make a difference if you're on One UI

I enabled gestures and I particularly like the swipe up to get home one though it's causing serious issues with my on screen gboard keyboard. Also the getting to the task manager with a swipe and long hold seems hit and miss and much less intuitive.

Is there middle ground somehow?

How long do correctly installed Whitestone domes last? I bought 2 and may have a spare one for sale if they don't just come off after 3 months like the factory Samsung one did?

I know folks who have had them installed from day one with no sign of coming off

Turning off the assistant panel for the notifications seems to have helped a lot.

I still need a better way of getting to the task manager.

I have a double tap on the home screen that brings up my task switcher.  I set this up using One Handed Operation+

If I'm not on the home screen I swipe up from the where the Recent's button was (Recent's gesture now) on the bottom left of my display.

I've changed gestures in more options from swipe from sides and bottom to swipe from bottom as task changer swipe for recent apps and home screen conflicting all the time, searching for info a lot of people have same problem so until task changer gets update this seems to be only solution I've found.

Hey team. Just going to post on a slight tangent, but appreciate this forums knowledge...

I have an aging Note 8 which has a massively degraded battery so I need to upgrade. My dilemma is;

- upgrade now to Note 10+ (PB tech have bonus e-scooter via redemption at the moment, but full price phone). This looks like a decent upgrade from N8.
- wait until the S20 is released and see what discounts the Note 10+ gets. No bonus scooter but cash discount is probable.
- Splash out and get the S20+ and move away from Note line (this would be difficult as I use the S-Pen frequently - but the S20 line looks like some good upgrades all round)
- manage with an average battery for a bit longer and hold out for what will presumably be the Note 20.
- get the battery replaced on my Note 8 and keep going for a bit longer (does replacing battery void waterproofing?).

I know this is really subjective but if anyone has any tips or advice I would appreciate it.

Does anyone know of a company in central Auckland, who can fit the whitestone dome I bought for a reasonable price? I am quite anxious to do it myself.

There's some good videos online, it worked for me first time.  Just watch the videos a few times so you know the process inside out before you start.  Then have everything laid out ready to go.  It's not as scary as it seems once you get started.  In fact the biggest issue is still whether or not you get any dust stuck on the display so make sure you do it in a clean environment with minimal airflow.

Did update on my note 10+ via Odin this morning and back on 2 degrees firmware with February 1st security update now, i presume the update should be OTA by now for everybody don't know if many changes possibly only security update and everything is working ok.
